Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a noteworthy battle that should be featured on "Battle of the Day" TV because of the unique monsters both parties use. These monsters conjured up a keen strategy; of course, the better strategies won.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 50 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Nature, Life, and Dragon.
Battle Rules:-
- What doesn't kill you: All units have enrage.
- Cripple: All units have cripple.
Keeping the mana cap, available summoners, and the battle rules in mind, I decided to go with the one that had high-level monsters in his arsenal and would guarantee an edge over my opponents through his own abilities, the life summoner.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Franz Ruffmane(Ability: Grants an additional shield for all allies and warrants the use of 1 Gladiator monster)(Level 2)
Tank: Mantaroth(Ability: Shield, Armoured Strike).
Blocked Tank: Imperial Knight(Ability: Void Armour).
Magic Attacker: Janni Rebel(Ability: Flank, Inspire), Captain Katie(Ability: Snipe, Bloodlust).
Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), War Pegasus(Ability: Flying, Shatter).
My strategy was to activate my blocked tank through my first magic attacker and have the melee attackers' damage increase by 1. I used a flying monster in the back that would be able to tear out all the shields of the enemy tank with 1 successful strike and would be able to dodge incoming physical attacks. I used a bloodthirsty monster in the rear end of the deck as a surefire way to get 1 kill from it and that way it would increase its overall stats through bloodlust. And, should it fail to have 1 kill by the time all my units from the front fall, the martyr effect from Marksrat would do the trick. My total mana spent was 50.
My overall damage per round is 19 with no healing.
Now, for the opposition's deck deconstruction.
Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: *Increase in Magic damage by 1 for all ally magic attackers)(Level 3)
Tank: Legionnaire Alvar(Ability: Void Armour).
Melee Attacker: Pallus(Ability: Flying, Reach, Kindred Spirit: True Strike).
Magic Attackers: Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank Heal), Doctor Blight(Ability: Affliction, Camouflage), Mycelic Splipsawn(Ability: Taunt).
Ranged Attackers: Uloth Dhampir(Ability: Stun).
His strategy was to direct all the incoming damage toward his taunt magic attacker while the rest of the units would focus on my tank and cut through it to my next monster. He also ensured that his and tank's attacks would connect by using Pallus; this one-of-a-kind monster allowed for the adjacent monsters to have a true strike, thus making their attacks unmissable. He used a tank-healer in the upper middle of the deck as he knew his taunt user would fall within 2 rounds if not the first round, that way, his units would also take out my tank and hence his tank would have an advantage over my units from the front. He also used a ranged attacker at the end of the deck that could stun the victims, a great way to neutralize the incoming threat and dominate from the frontal assault.
His overall damage is 16 with a healing of 2.
Major Events
This first unit to fall at the start of the round is his Splipspawn.
His tank followed his Splipspawn shortly making it a 6 v 4.
After half the round had passed, my tank finally fell and somewhat soothed his situation.
In the first half of the round, his Eagle fell to the ground even with the enrage ability on. From here, things were not gonna look good for him.
In the final third of the round, my second tank fell making it a 4 v 3. His units were still alive and kicking.
Near the start of the round, his tank healer fell, so his overall damage was reduced to 5 and healing to 0.
In the first third of the round, my primary magic attacker fell leaving my vulnerable unit to come up while my bloodthirsty monster was still at play and undamaged.
They got my Marksrat but his units were on the low HP range which instantly gave me an edge over with, along with the stats boost I just got from the martyr effect.
In the final third of the round, his scarecrow doc fell thanks to my magic attacker and increased its overall stats.
Finally, my magic attacker also took out his last unit, and she got yet another stats boost because of the bloodlust ability.
Results
The one spot he missed out on was the speed factor. Most of his units had a speed of 1 with 1 unit with a speed of 3 and 3 units with a speed of 2 while most of my units had a speed of 2 with 1 unit with a speed of 4. That way, it was easy to draw first blood and gain the upper hand even though his strategy was a very good counter to mine. Had he used a double sneak attacker combo instead of the taunt and plague doctor units, I would surely have lost this one.
