Greetings Summoners! Welcome to Battle Mage Secrets. The Battle Mage Secrets is a challenge where every week players must test their strategic skills in battle for specific rules. This week the specific rule is "Silenced Summoners":

Summoners do not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities.
Use your lowest cost and highest level summoner within this ruleset.

This battle was played in a Splinterlands tournament where all Modern sets (Chaos Legion and Rebellion) were allowed to play. It was in the "Tidalring Modern Novice Invitational". This tournament has a novice format so only level 1 cards can be used. Let's see the rules, the team and the details of the battle.

Battle Rules & Strategy

This is a 33 mana battle with 2 battle rules (Maneuvers and Silenced Summoners). All elements except Fire and Earth are allowed to play.

My Lineup


The Riftwatcher cadre trained many of the Kingdom of Mar Toren's citizens in the use of irregular warfare against the Chaos Empire. Now, Prunda trains her kin and orchestrates the resistance in the depths of the Colossus Ocean and in settlements along the coast of the Wild Northeast.

Prunda Undervesch: I really like this summoner as it gives us the possibility to combine our cards with the Water and Life elements.

Djinn Oshannus: jinn Oshannus is an amazing magic attack card that can be used as a tank due to its high Speed and HP. In addition, its "Void" ability reduces damage from Magic attacks.

Venari Marksrat: When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.

Baakjira: Strong tank with high HP. Its "Slow" ability reduces the Speed of all enemy monsters allowing our monsters to attack first and have less chance to mis

Daarg Deadblast: Very useful card as it gives adjacent units with no attack this unit's attack, up to a maximum of 3.

Merdaali Guardian: This card will help us to keep our tank alive as long as possible thanks to its Tank Heal ability, which restores a portion of the monster in the first position's health each round.

Spirit Hoarder: Spirit Hoarder is very useful as it heals the friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage thanks to its "Triage" ability.

This was a great battle. I think my strategy worked well. Does magic damage is very important to avoid opponent's heavily armored monsters. Monsters with magic attack may do damage from any row, since this form of attack ignores the defender’s Armor STAT (damage is applied directly to health). Unless there is a monster with Phase on the enemy's team, magic attack will always hit. There is no miss chance. So I am happy with the result and the strategy I used. I have won 100.750 SPS for finishing 5th in this tournament. It was amazing! Entry was free and there were 273 players registered.
