Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Born Again. These rulesets give all monsters the opportunity to experience Runi's special ability, where they have the ability Rebirth wich which allows them to self resurrect once.

Well, I'm not a professional player or a tournament hero. I merely like to discuss battles and strategies that in my opinion are worthwhile. I participated in this combat using my Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700. I played in the Diamond league at modern rank while using a Full main Chaos Legion edition card and several Reward cards. The battle strategy that I shared may not be effective in other leagues because of the different levels of each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the main point of this post!

Line Up and Strategy

Guys, I think the rulesets of this battle are very interesting, because Born again is also combined with Briar Patch and also Ferocity. In Born again rulesets, of course using a monster that has stats with Armor and Heal is the best option, because this will be an opportunity for the monster to last longer, even until the battle is over. However, in this battle there are also Briar Patch rulesets, where using Melee monsters is something that must be avoided. Therefore, Grandmaster Rathe who has buffs +1 Armor, Void Armor, and Amplify is the best option for this battle.

I will explain the arrangement and strategy of each monster to overthrow Grandmaster Rathe in the table below.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
Grandmaster RatheSummoner+1 Armor, Void Armor, AmplifyGrandmaster Rathe's Buf ability is very supportive in this ruleset, both in the Born Again and Briar Patch rulesets. In the Born Again rulesets, all monsters will be Rebirt in a state of Void Armor, so they will not immediately die in one attack, unless they are piercing. Amplify ability is also very useful in this battle, increasing all monsters have Thorn ability, so if the opponent uses Melee monsters, then with Amplify, the reversal damage received will increase +1.
Uriel The PurifierFirstFlying, Recharge, Heal, RedemptionI chose Uriel the Purifier as the tank in first place. Even though Uriel is a Melee monster, but with the ability to Recharge, this monster will not get the opportunity to attack every round. This will be an advantage in this Briar Patch battle. I chose Uriel The Purifier as a Tank because it has high HP with Heal ability, and has very large Armor. So if this monster dies, the Rebirth of this monster will also be difficult to subvert again. This monster also has a good ability to survive, Flying ability allows this monster to avoid Range and Melee attacks, And with its Redemption ability, if this monster dies it will deal 1 damage to all enemy monsters.
Djinn RenovaSecondStrengthen, TriageIn second place I chose Djinn Renova. Even though it's in second place, I didn't design this monster as a second tank, but as an attacker and support because it has 4 magic damage and Triage abilities that will give Heal to other monsters that are not in the first position. In this strategy, I will still use the Taunt monster in the last position, and the cooperation between Djinn Renova and Tanut monster will make the defense stronger.
Adelade BrightwingThirdFlying, Repair, Resurrect, Immunity, SwiftnessAdelade Brightwing's third position is one of the keys to my defensive strategy. This is because of Adelade Brightwing's ability. Repair ability will restore 2 Armor for other monsters that receive the most attacks, Resurrect will re-inject other monsters that died the earliest, and also Swiftness will increase the speed of all friendly monsters. Furthermore, for self-defense, this monster also has Immunity ability and Flying ability.
War PegasusFourthFlying, Shatter, DemoralizeWar Pegasus is in fourth position, as the main Attacker because it has 4 Range attack damage combined with very high speed. This monster also has the Shatter ability, where if this attack hits the target, all the armor of the monster will be damaged. Another support ability possessed by this monster is Demoralize which is able to reduce melee attacks from all friendly monsters.
PrismologistFifthBlast, Forcefield, SilenceThe prismologist in fifth position has the same role as War Pegasus, as the main attacker as well as Support. The difference is, if War Pegasus relies on large damage and speed, if Prismologist relies on large damage and Blast. Prismologist also has the ability of Silence to reduce magic damage from all enemy monsters, and this is a very important ability in this Briar Patch battle, because I believe the opponent will use more Magic attacks or ranges.
IziarLastTaunt, VoidUsing Taunt monsters in Ferocity is indeed very risky, considering that Taunt monsters will get double damage from Fury monsters. However, looking at the rulesets and open elements, I predict that the opponent will use a lot of Magic monsters, and Iziar even though he has Taunt also has a Void that will reduce the magic attacks received. So I still use Iziar in this formation, even though the Iziar I have is still low level.

You can see the complete line-up of both teams in the picture below. It seems that the opponent also has the same strategy that I applied.

line-up.png

The opponent uses Summoner Grandmaster Rathe, with the Imperial Knight who has the abilities of Void Armor, Heal and Reflect Magic in first place. In the second position, the opponent uses Corsair Bosun which is a Melee monster with Reach, but also has the Reflection Shield ability so Briar Patch will have no effect on this monster. In addition, this monster also has a Cleanse ability. In third place there is Adelade Brightwing with the same stats that I have, and fourth position is Djinn Renova who also has the same stats that I have. The fifth positions is Iziar, but with a higher level than my monster, where the Martyr ability has been activated. I think the opponent used Martyr to trigger an increase in stats among the opponent's main attackers. Just imagine how many stat benefits the monster will get among this Iziar if Martyr on this monster is active three times because it gets reborn from Adelade as well as Rebirth from rulesets. And in the last position there is Runemancer Atuat, with the ability of Headwind, Forcefield, and Last Stand.

This battle is very interesting, where the strategy used by both teams is almost the same. Even so, the differences in some of the monsters chosen give this significant impact and battle. Although at first glance judging from the line-up of the opponent's monsters is more interesting because of some abilities that will be very entertaining, the final result of this battle is still beyond prediction.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy that I applied went very well in this battle. Combining strong defense with Heal, Repair, as well as debuffs and buffs from all monsters made me able to win this batle even though at the beginning of the round it looked less convincing, because the opponent was more domineering. But by choosing the main attackers of the range monster, War Pegasus and Prismologist, this actually became the key to my victory.
