Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. This is my second post to join Splinterlands Mage Secrets battle Challenge with theme Counterspell.

In my previous post, I discussed one strategy for dealing with these rulesets by maximizing melee monsters and focusing on sneak monsters In this post, I will share another strategy, although it is very risky, but still can be used in Counterspell rulesets, if you are in a situation where the monsters you can use are very limited.

Well, once again I remind you that I am nobody Not a pro-player or a tournament champion I just like to share strategies according to my personal views I still use a Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700 playing in the modern Diamond league with max level cards consisting of full core Chaos Legion and some Reward cards The strategy I will apply may not be effective if applied in other leagues, considering that the level of cards and abilities that are open in each league is also different

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the main topic of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: COUNTERSPELL

Description:

All units receive the magic reflect ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with magic receive damage back.

Damage returned is equal to the damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Magic units with the reflection shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The amplify ability increases damage.

Battle Rulesets

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Healed Out (All Healing abilities are removed from monsters and Summoners)
  • Counterspell (All MOnsters have teh Magic Reflect ability)
  • Keep Your Distance (Mesters with Melee attack may not be used in battles)
  • Mana Capacity 39
  • Active Element Fire, Earth, Life and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

As seen in the above rulesets, melee attack monsters cannot be used in this battle So if we don't use magic monsters at all, it will be very difficult to form a lineup Therefore, I also choose to use Magic monsters, but to reduce damage from magic reflect reversal, I will use Summoner Immortalis which gives Void buff to all friendly monsters.

I have used this strategy several times, and although it is quite risky, I have gained more calmness than losses As long as the magic damage from the monster we use is not more than 3, this strategy can still be used, because the maximum reversal from Magic Reflect is 2 while the Void ability from Summoner will reduce 1 damage So, if your monster only has 1 or 2 magic attack damage, there will be no reversal that hits the monster, while if you use a monster with 3 magic attack, you will only receive 1 reversal damage with the note that the opponent does not use Amplify monster.

The line-up and strategy of each monster that I choose in this battle will be arranged in a table as below.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
ImmortalisSummoner-1 Health, Void, ShatterImmortalis has a Void ability that will be a helper for all magic monsters that I will use in this battle so as not to die quickly from Reflect magic. Without Void and Reflection Shield abilities, using magic monsters is suicide, but I'm sure things will be different if the magic monsters also have the Void ability of this Summoner buff.
Thane NewsongFirstInspire, StrengthenThe main tank for this battle is a non-damage monster where actually this monster is very useful if there is a Melee monster because it has the Inspire ability. However, besides Inspire, this monster also has a Strengthen ability that will increase the HP of all friendly monsters. This monster has quite a lot of HP, that's why I chose it to be in the first place.
Regal PerytonSecondFlyingIn the second posiis you chose Regal Peryton because this monster also has a large HP. This monster has 3 magic damage, and maybe the Relect Magic from its attack will hit this monster as well, but this is not a big problem because there will be other monsters that will equip this monster both as tanks and attackers.
Ava the UndauntedThirdWeapons Training, Shatter, Close RangeThis monster actually has the Weaposn Trining ability, where if placed next to a non-damage monster, the monster will have the same attack damage as this monster with a maximum number of 3. But I chose to put this monster in the middle because I want to keep this monster alive until the end of the battle because it is a Range monster with Close Range ability.
Queen MyceliaFourthProtect, Amplify, RustThe only monster with Amplify. This is one of the most important monsters in this battle because of its abilities. Unfortunately, this monster has the smallest HP and could be the target of an attack from an Opportunity monster.
Acid ShooterFifthScattershot, Cripple, PoisonAcid Shooter will be a monster full of surprises, because of its undirected attacks due to Scattershoot and also equipped with Poison.
Mycelic SlipspawnLastTaunt, Forcefield, SlowIn addition to the monster in the first position, this monster is also a Tank in this battle because it will be the target of attack from all monsters that are not in the first position, or do not have the Scattershot ability. This monster has a large HP, and also the same as Regal Peryton, this monster has 3 magical damage. Maybe there will be a reversal of Reflect magic if this menter attacks the opponent, but I don't bother about that because the HP of this monster is also quite large.

The opponent this time is a fellow scholarship account from the Balthazar guild with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-15. Opponents use fire elements with Summoner Conqueror Jacek who provides +2 Speed, Scattershot and Piercing buffs.

Out of the 6 monsters, 5 of them are range monsters and the opponent doesn't use magic monsters at all In the first position as a tank, the opponent uses Scavo Chemist with abilities Cleanse, Slow, and Headwind In the second position, there is Lava Launcher with 5 damage range and abilities Close Range and Stun In the third position, there is Molten Ash Golem with abilities Close Range, Weaken, and Demoralize In the fourth position, there is Xenith Archer with 2 damage magic, and in the fifth position, there is Supply Runner with abilities Swiftness and Strengthen, and in the last position, there is Countess Sinash with abilities Opportunity, Camouflage, and Swiftness.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked very effectively in this battle. I think the use of summoners who provide Void buffs such as Immortalis can be a solution if you want to keep using Magic monsters on Counterspell rulesets. Another alternative is to use Grandmaster Rathe which has +1 Armor buffs and Void Armor as well as Amplify. So you can apply both defensive and attacking strategies with Grandmaster Rathe.

Some strategies that you can apply to Counterspell include:

  • Avoid using Magic Monsters, maximize attacks with Melee and Range.
  • Its ok to using Magic monster if they have Void, or Reflection Shield.
  • Using Summoner with buff Void if you still wanna used Magic Monsters.
  • Using monsters with Amplify ability to increase reflect magic.
