Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will be showing you a battle in the modern ranked champion league against mostly ranged units.

First, let's talk a little bit about Baron Fyatt, who is a legendary unit, and can be used in both death and fire element, very good at reducing the attack of enemy units.

Thanks to his Halving ability, every attack he performs reduces the enemy unit's attack by 50%, it cannot be stacked. Additionally, his attacks are on random enemies if he is in the backline.

Baron will attack before the battle starts, which is known as the Ambush round. In addition, while alive, all enemy melee and ranged units will have the Blind ability, having a 15% chance to miss their attacks.

Baron may not have much attack power, but his abilities are pretty good together, especially the first three. Because he can attack in the Ambush round and has the Scattershot ability, in the first round one enemy unit can start the battle with half of its attack power, which is a huge advantage. If we are lucky in the second round, another unit will be affected by the Halving.

His weakness is that he doesn't have much speed, so he works best in the Reverse Speed ruleset.

FUN FACT: Baron Fyatt is one of only 5 units in Splinterlands that have the Halving ability. And he is currently the only mage who has it.

One little thing I want to share with you before the battle is that I reached Champion II today before the season ends, so I got some free loot chests. Unfortunately, this time I only got mostly merits, but at least I got 5 energy.

In this battle, only units with 5 or more health are allowed. And all units on the battlefield will have the Cripple (-1 to the target's max health after any unit is attacked) and the Thorns ability (all melee units will take 2 physical damage after they succesfully attack).

This time I decided to choose the summoner, Cryptic, great for slowing down enemy units and cursing them with the Blind ability. And thanks to his right-tactic, I give the Poison an Expose ability to Djinn Oshannus and Baron Fyatt.

In the first position, I used Djinn Oshannus, who is great against magic, taking 50% less damage from those attacks and can also dodge them. Additionally, any enemy attack greater than 5, Djinn will only take 1 damage instead.

I then put Angelic Mandarin to reduce the magic attack of the enemy units, and it is able to heal a backline unit each round. Anasth Soothsayer in the third position to cleanse and heal my Djinn Oshannus in case the enemy also uses Cryptic with the Expose ability.

The attack reducer, Baron Fyatt in the fourth position. And two final ranged units in the fifth and sixth position, Drybone Bowdog (who also attacks randomly and has the ambush ability like Baron) and Wave Brood (who will draw the attention of enemy units to attack it, and takes less damage from magic and has the return fire ability).

In the first round, Baron poisons Riftwing, and some units are damaged, but all survive. In the second round, Wave Brood is the first unit to be defeatead by the enemy Supply Runner. Wily Coyotian is then destroyed by Djinn Oshannus and Anasth Soothsayer due to Astral Entity resurrecting the coyotian. And Baron Fyatt defeats the enemy Supply Runner.

In the third round, Queen of Crows defeats my Djinn Oshannus. Baron Fyatt applies poison to Lira the Dark.

In the fourth round, Angelic Mandarin is defeated by Queen of Crows.

In the fifth round, enemy Riftwing and Lira the Dark are defeated by the poison applied by Baron in the previous rounds. Meriput Slinger is poisoned by Baron Fyatt.

In the sixth round, Anasth Soothsayer is defeated by Queen of Crows. And Baron Fyatt once again, applies poison this time on the enemy Queen. So, in the seventh round, as the Queen and Meriput have 1 HP, they are defeated by the poison, ending the battle.

Full Battle

Baron Fyatt with the help of Cryptic who gave him the Poison and Expose ability, was able to poison 4 enemy units, helping a lot to reduce the opponent's health. The opponent focused more on playing ranged units and reducing the attack of my ranged units with Queen of Crows and Riftwing due to their Headwins ability, but mostly my damage was provided by magic attack and as I say before the poison, which 4 of the 6 units were poisoned. In the end Baron Fyatt and Drybone Bowdog were able to survive with 4 HP each, winning the battle.
