Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will show you an exciting battle in the modern format fighting against Heloise.
But first, let's talk a little about Heloise the Hollow, a legendary card that is currently only available in the Action House, what does that mean? If you want to get this card, you have to Bid for it, so far there are only 32 in circulation, each of them obtained with a bid of more than 1,000,000, DEC which is around 1000 dollars, and only 100 of them will be available. So, it means that only a few players will have a slight advantage for having this card, in a kind of way, I like it.
Heloise the Hollow, is a powerful melee unit with an attack power of 8, making her the highest attack unit in Splinterlands, but she is somewhat slow with only 3 speed, and has 7 hit points, regular I would say.
In her abilities, she has the Taunt ability that draws enemy attacks towards her, which is not good since she has no protection. Then, she has the Opportunity ability, which is good as she can focus only in the weakest enemy unit. In her third ability, she has a unique ability, Spite, which makes a bit of sense why she has the taunt ability since when she is defeated, thanks to Spite she will counterattack the enemy unit that defeated her.
So far I wouldn't say she's OP, but this changes with her latest ability, another unique ability, Soul Siphon, so what does it do to make Heloise powerful? As long as there is a non-Weary allied unit, she can self-ressurect with 100% armor and 50% of her max health. It would be a loop if this ability didn't have any negative effect, that's why every time she resurrects, her allied unit with the highest health is weakeaned by losing 50% of their health, and is cursed with the Weary ability. A little selfish, I would say.
Since there are currently only 32 Heloise, I'm surprised to see her in ranked battles. Let me show you the battle, where I decided to use the amazing Nidhoggr to give three of my units the Blast ability, one of the abilities I like the most because of the chaos it produces.
In the first position Arkemis the Bear, to protect my allies with +2 armor, and the bear will only take 1 damage from attacks of 5 or more thanks to its Forcefield ability. Since the Target practice ruleset is active, meaning all ranged and magic units will attack the first non-melee unit that is not in the first position, I put Venari Marksrat in the second position, so when it is defeated, its Martyr ability will trigger, granting +1 to all stats to its adjacent allies.
And one of my favorite creatures in the fourth position, which is the Rage dragon, which will grant 3 magic attack power to its adjacent allies that have no attack. That's why in the third and fith position, I put Grimbardun Smith and Baakjira respectively. Grimbardun because it takes reduced damage from all types of attacks, and is also immune to poison, so it is not affected by the Noxious Fumes ruleset that is active. And Baakjira because, although it is affected by poison, it can regenerate herself every round thanks to its healing ability.
In the first round, Heloise defeats my Venari Marksrat. So Arkemis and Grimbardun gain +1 to all stats. After that, Heloise is defeated for the first time by Grimbardun Smith. Heloise resurrects, but not before applying Soul Siphon to her ally Baakjira, reducing its health by -8 and cursing it with Weary.
In the second round, my Baakjira defeats Heloise. She resurrects again, reducing Djinn Oshannus' health by -5 and cursing him with Weary.
In the third round, the poison from the Noxious fumes ruleset, destroys the enemy Anash Soothsayer and Endura Brune. Then, Heloise is defeated again this time by my Rage dragon, she resurrects again and to my surprise the Soul Siphon ability kills her ally Daarg Deadblast. I didn't know it would kill it, I tought it would just leave it with 1 HP. And finally Grimbardun Smith definitively defeats Heloise, who cannot ressurect again because all her allies have the Weary debilitation.
In the fourth round, Arkemis the Bear defeats enemy Baakjira due to the Blast ability. And in the fifth and final round, Baakjira defeats Djinn Oshannus, ending the battle.
In this battle, the enemy Heloise couldn't shine as she wanted, because she couldn't do full damage when attacking my Grimbardun, who was taking less damage from her melee attack. And thanks to the Target Practice ruleset, my backline units ignored Djinn Oshannus, and went against Baakjira, which was very good, since it would be very difficult to hit attacks on Djinn if he was in the second position due to his Phase ability, which allows him to evade magic attacks and since he had 6 speed, 7 after being cleaned due to Anash. My units, having a very slow speed, would not have been able to hit many attacks as they did against Baakjira. This time I was able to win the battle against Heloise, I hope to defeat her in other battles as well.
