Heloise Auction Final Numbers
I have written about the HTH auction, here and here. From the very beginning I felt an attachment to this card, which I have described here. Just to remind people, this was the initial reaction when the auction was announced:
- There won't be any demand for this card
- Price of this card will be low as no one will want them
- No one in their right mind will pay $1000 for a card
I took a lot of that personally, as I typically do. Because this game is a personal quest for me. I decided to support the price of the regular foil card, because I know GF will be highly well subscribed.

Here is the final result. The average price of 95 RF cards is 988,736. I say that is fairly close to 1M DEC. That was my initial expected goal. I bought 10 cards in total. My personal average is 1,077,444. It is slightly higher than the global average, but I do not mind. I am glad it was a successful auction.
This was the 5 Gold Foil cards. Average is about 9.8M DEC. So GF went for about 10X the regular foil, which again beat the expectation to the upside (@vugtis lost the bet, no, he just made a comment, didn't bet). Overall, the auction returned 142,825,900 DEC to the SPS DAO.

Now, that its over. I am planning to taking the free delegations away from the current users. I don't know what I will do with 10 of those. Maybe I will rotate them through players I like and enjoy talking to :) Or, perhaps, I will give a few free delegations to people who are doing significant community service to the Splinterlands community. I will have to think about it how I use this. Here is the fact, I own 10% of the supply of the first auction card of Splinterlands, and YES, this is a flex :) Yes, I could have gotten a GF with this much money, but I would still have to purchase a few for my scholars. So, for me, this ended up to be the best alternative. I also supported the price in the process. I can guaruntee that during the middle dog days, the price would have dipped 500K DEC if no support were given. Now, you can argue about if that is a good thing or a bad thing at your leisure, but I am reasonably happy about it.
Great recap and very cool flex AZ :) 10% of the supply is quite impressive. I've loved my Heloise so far - I keep reaching for it in battle.

Dang, I wish DEC was easier to come by these days than it used to be. Besides buying it of course. I haven't looked at the rental market in a while. Did that ever end up recovering a bit? Congrats on getting some of the cards.

Huge success for the auction and has really saved the promo event for giving the DAO 119,454,900 DEC profit from their investment though if there's a thing I think should change is that the auction should remain online during maintenance. The last maintenance took particularly wrong and by the time it ended, the auction was almost over so it was extended by an hour and other potential bidders may not get notified or have other things to do that make them unable to bid for a higher price, given there's not many people that that has 9,123,456 DEC but people can always bid using credits.
That and some changes with how the promo event was run as well better card design decisions (Fizbo) can bring more profit to the DAO if the DAO decided to fund future promo events.
I love it! Splinterlands is ever evolving and is keeping the game more exciting.
I don't like some changes in the game but I am glad that auction was successful.
Wow, every time I am amazed how much funds cards like these earn for the DAO, not surprising on the other side because not one single game out there is so awesome in so many ways than our beloved game. I don't have nearly enough funds to make purchases like these but this game can be enjoyed on all levels 🤎
A very cool flex indeed!, and something that should be considered by the detractors, it is a flex that benefits the entire community. There are no losers here, only winners, even the whingers win ultimately.
