Regions are different!

Very Different

Well not that it is new information, but seeing is believing. Analyzing is realizing. I am looking at Splinterlands regions through a completely different lens. I am observing what people did in the past, and what they are doing now and into the future. All this is public data and was always available, but wasn't easy to consume before. Thanks to @beaker007 it is now. He is additing new functionality to his tool on a daily basis:

It has now chart data for every reagion, can be displayed 6 at a time. Also have all the tract level data too. It has beautiful charts, but you can also download the data as a CSV file and make your own custom chart like I did above.

My Regions

First thing is, only Region 10 is all mine, the other two I have a small number of plots. However, my main goal with the plot above is to show how the three regions are different, and what is happening there overall.

Frist thing is 'activity', because this is the first metric we should look at.

Region 9 is 52% active, followed by Region 47 which is 37% active (slightly above average of 33% activity), and finally my region 10, which is 31% active! Yes, I am below average. Such is life. However, there is no point hiding, and I want us to be transparent.

Region 9 is mostly desert, so obviously a lot of stone production is happening there. Region 10 is almost equally wood and iron, which I like a lot; but almost no stone. Region 47 is interesting. Lots of people are producing grain there. It is many owners. I think I count 90 owners!! Many with just one plot. So if you just have one plot, or 15 plots like me, what are you mostly likely going to do? If you can, likely you will farm some grain. Also as a reminder:

Grain is farmed in Plains, River, Bog, Lake

Also this is Region 47, visually

Yes I see a lot of lot of Lakes and Rivers!

If I add, I get 722 plots that can produce grain! No wonder this region is grain heavy. But that is not all though. When I first looked at this Region 47, it struck me that it is showing a surprisingly high allocation of research! Something, that is not in vogue at the moment.

It has 1.6M boosted PP allocated for research! Who are these people? Come out, come out please!!

Tracts of Region 47 allocation

Oh! Hello! Tract 4 is empty!

image.png

So, is Tract 7! Empty as a tin can!!

Hey, folks; are you willing to have a conversation? Tract 4 and Tract 7: are they up for sale?

Tract 2 has a massive amount of boosted research. How are they paying for the assets? Buying?

Folks in Tract 9! SOS! Are you still producing SPS and losing value? Why? Do you like to turn them off and produce some grain?

These are my thoughts. Let us start some conversations around these interesting aspects. I am sure there are a lot of deals to be made. Win-Win folks!

Sort:

I happen to have a couple of plots in region 47, tract 2. Grain producers for other regions. I used to have more here but sold them. I should have kept the Grain lands.., all water under the bridge.

Oh no I have 1 plot in this region 👀. Fascinating that you own the whole region 10. How I wish I have my own region.

what are you doing on that plot?

Do something! If you just sit there nothing is going to happen to it. Put some cards in it and clean it up.

Nothing yet 🥺

I wonder how many people set things up when it first launched and then just forgot about it. There are some weeks where I forget to check my lands. Isn't there a penalty that gets imposed after a certain amount of time?

The site doesn't produce anything after it reaches 100% so you lose out in that way

There is a limit to plots and the keeps/castles. After the limit you don't store anything additional.

For research, there is a cost for natural resources, which can be a lot to some people. So there are unclaimed research. I don't know if there is a way to find out, but I will be trying.

Okay thanks!

Great article, really appreciate the information you and beaker are making available to everyone, only have a small number of land at the moment but these charts are helping me think about what I want to do with them and what I want to add in the future

Thank you. I am yet to digest all the data that I have looked at and there is more on the way. Thanks to @beaker007 for lifting the cloud. I am forever grateful to him.

This is great! Thanks for sharing! I need to familiarize myself with @beaker007 's tools.

Maybe people in Tract 4 and 7 will sell their land if they are not using it. That would be great.. Mr Azircon would like to purchase it please hahaha

There should be a ingame notification at certain % of capacity, like when you reach 75% capacity and again at 90 and 100 so you're less likely to forget to harvest 😅
