Risqruel Drath is a legendary summoner from the Rebellion edition in Splinterlands. He is unique in being a dual element summoner, allowing the use of cards from both the Fire and Earth Splinters. His passive skills grant +1 ranged attack and the Flying ability to all allied units, providing increased offensive and defensive capabilities in terms of evasion and mobility. However, what really makes him stand out are the additional skill options he can grant to cards in play:

  1. Impede and True Strike for two cards, ensuring precise attacks and enemy speed reduction.

  1. Taunt and Redemption for a single card, designed to draw enemy damage and cause an area hit upon removal.

History:

Risqruel Drath, spent his early years among the trees of the Great Lowlands’ Endless Valley. He was renowned for his swift hands and an insatiable appetite for luxurious treats and shiny trinkets, and his adventures were the stuff of legend—well, at least in his own mind. They often involved liberating the choicest nuts and baubles from wealthy forest dwellers, which he rationalized as “redistributing excessive wealth” to himself.

Risqruel’s curiosity and wandering paws landed him in a whole heap of trouble the night he tried to steal a powerful fey rune etched into the bark of a sacred tree by the brownie sorcerer, Mossog. believing it to be a treasure map to the greatest cache of nuts ever hoarded away, Risqruel snuck past the dozing brownie and attempted to liberate the rune.

But it activated, and its fey magic surged into Risqruel, awakening within him an intellect and magical prowess that were beyond those of a mere squirrel. Unfortunately, it also awakened Mossog, who attempted to strip the Risqruel of the rune’s powers—a process that involved the loss of a great deal of blood and the removal of entrails.

Preferring to keep his entrails inside of him, thank you very much, Risqruel fled into the rainforest. However, with his newfound intelligence came an awareness that life amounted to more than collecting nuts and trinkets. And with the legions of Chaos destroying his beloved forest by the hectares in their hunt for rebels, he found a new purpose.

Risqruel began conducting raids on the empire’s patrols and outposts using his spells, claws, and teeth. And when he spotted a lone battle mage who used magic cards to protect the Kha’zi and spoke of rising up and breaking the chains of tyranny, Risqruel’s ears perked and whiskered twitch. At last, he’d found someone with the audacity to make a difference.

And so Risqruel Drath surreptitiously follows the battle mage out of the rainforest and into the Wastes of the East. He watches his unwitting companion from a distance as they make for New Sskah City. And he waits for his chance to strike a mortal wound against the heart of the Chaos Empire.

Risqruel Drath is ideal for players looking for adaptable strategies, as his versatility allows for his usage to be customized depending on the matchup and the rules of the game. Key tactics include:

Taunt Defensive Strategy:

By using Taunt and Redemption, you can sacrifice a resilient unit to deflect attacks from the rest of your team. Placing a card with Heal or Repair as support will increase its survivability, while removing it will deal damage to all enemies. Ideal in battles with rules like Explosive Weaponry, where area damage can be maximized.

Impede and True Strike Offensive Strategy:

Combining these skills improves accuracy and reduces enemy speed, favoring consecutive attacks and speed control. This is particularly effective on teams with multiple ranged or magic attackers, especially under Aim True rules.

Link of battle

This is one of the most frequented summoners in the top of the Splinterlands universe. Are you waiting to add it to your deck?

Sort:

I just got beaten up by an enemy using Risquel a little different - he gave my strongest card Taunt, and had a Fury monster - very effective combination to take out the biggest threat in the enemy team!

Here's the battle link. Really liked the enemy's move, even though I lost :-D

Yes, the alignment is a little different but use the Goblin Psychic as I recommend in the post, it's a shame you found this opponent, he destroyed you hehe

What a great amount of information from this summoner, good job!
