Introduction
This week, I’m excited to dive into a Splinterlands strategy I’ve been loving lately. It’s all about the Moxian Rebel—another fantastic card with the Weapon Training ability. I only have her at Level 1, but trust me, she’s a regular in my lineup and pulls her weight in plenty of battles!
For newer players, Moxian Rebel is definitely a card I’d recommend picking up, even though she might cost a bit more. In my opinion, she can snag you a solid number of wins, especially in the lower leagues where her unique strengths really shine.
One of my favorite combos is pairing her with Obsidian or Lorkus, both of whom boost magic damage from +2 (only adjacent unit get +1) to +5 (adjecent unit +2 and its self +1). Thanks to her Weapon Training ability, not only does Moxian Rebel hit harder, but her adjacent non-attacking units also enjoy the same magic damage boost from the summoner. It’s a synergy that’s just too good to pass up!
Combined with these summoners it make it very powerful combo.
Becauss of its low health i like to use even more whith the equalizer rule set where all unit have equal health.
Lets have a look when its in action. As you can see i do not only use with these summoners above sometime also with other even in high mana matches.
Strategy
High mana match with earthquake so i need to pick some units with flying.
In the death team there are two very strong flying units that have no attack points. This is where the Moxian Rebel comes into play.
In this match i think surviving is the key strategy so i when for Astral Entity as the summoner. In hind site i needed to just select my favorite summoner lorkus.
Rulesets
Lost Legendaries:
No legendary unit may be select.
Legendary summoners are still possible to choose.
Tis but Scratches:
All unit will gain the cripple ability. Meaning that every attack the maximum health is lowered with 1.
Earthquake:
All non flying units will get earthquake damage starting from turn 2, 2 damage every turn.
The Lineup
Summoner
Card | Reason |
---|---|
Not a summoner i choose often. in this cast specially for the rebirth and with extra armor. Because with earthquake first the armor is taken down before it will do damage to your health. |
Monsters Lineup
#1 | #2 | #3 | #4 | #5 | #6 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Night Ghoul (lvl 6)
Heavy tank that even without the flying will last some round taking 2 damage every round from the earthquake rule set.
Pelacor Deceiver (lvl 10)
In the second position waiting till it can attack a flying unit that has decent damage and nice large amount of health points.
Riftwing (lvl 10)
First non attacking unit that will be boosted by the Moxian Rebel. With scavenger and headwind some nice ability to last some rounds and reduce the damage out of some range units.
Moxian Rebel (lvl 2)
Start of this week. it will be dead very quickly because it has no flying and only 2 health but then it did its purpose already, boosting adjacent units..
Will-o-Wisp (lvl 6)
Second non attacking unit, with flying, that has again significant amount of health and reduces the magic damage of my opponent.
Helheim Demon (lvl 6)
This taunt unit will draw the attention and will be attack first. it has flying so no extra damage from the earthquake ruleset.

Rounds
Start :
There we go with the new battle screen layout. I must say i need to familiar with a bit yet, the pause button and loading of the battle seems to a bit different, but lets continue to the battle..
My opponent went with a nice strategy of snare and the rest fully ignore the earthquake rule set. IMHO a big mistake. That you can only when you have high armor units or lots of attacking power to overwhelm your opponent in a fast and quick death.
Round 1:
On of the thing that might worry me is if Katrelba Gobson gets on a killing spree. Yet for now Moxian Rebel did her part and one damage.
Round 2:
Katrelba Gobson got its first kill that is not nice, now 5 damage per attack. Still my units have a lot of health so not worrying that this moment.
My Moxian Rebel is killed by the earthquake, expected to last at least one more round, because of the rust of my opponent it is killed early. Not problem the weapon training is already done.
Round 3:
Lucky my Helheim Demon had one more armor left therefor 4 damage absorbed 🤣.
The earthquake damage has put my opponent in the danger zone.
Round 4:
Victory, the adjacent units boosted by the Moxian Rebel are still standing strong.
Conclusion
As you can see from the battle example above, Moxian Rebel truly knows how to shine! Even at early levels, she’s an absolute powerhouse, capable of turning the tide of a match with her magic boosts and synergy with other units. She’s not just a strong pick; she’s a game-changer in the right lineup.
Next up, I’ll share a few more examples where Moxian Rebel shows her true potential, proving why she deserves a spot in your collection. Let’s dive in!
That's all for this week hope you enjoyed reading this battle report. See you all on the battle field
