Hey everyone!

Some major changes in the Splinterlands universe are around the corner.

The latest Land Expansion 1.75 is about to be released, and if you haven’t heard about it yet, you definitely want to check out the official announcement here:

Land 1.75 is Coming! The Future of Splinterlands Land Awaits

Let’s break down what’s coming in simple terms.

New Resources

So far, we’ve been used to collecting Grain, SPS, and Resource tokens. But now, four main resources are being introduced:

  • Grain
  • Wood
  • Stone
  • Iron

Every plot that’s active still needs Grain to feed its workers. Self-sustainability might be tricky now, since Grain is even more critical. In the first release, I tried to plan out how much Grain I’d need to feed my SPS and Resource plots, but the calculations got complicated. For now i will go with the flow and maximize the grain i can produce and start from there.

Here are the exact production rates per hour (per Production Point) so you can do your own math:

  • Grain: 0.02 (unchanged)
  • Wood: 0.005
  • Stone: 0.002
  • Iron: 0.0005

If you want to produce resource point you needs al of these resources shown in the image below.

Trade Hub

Next, we have the Trade Hub. It’s basically a convenient system for swapping one resource for another (for example, Wood to Grain or Grain to Wood). Under the hood, it’s Wood → DEC, DEC → Grain, but you not have to manually do those steps.

New Trade Hub interface

My current liquidity pool values:

GRAIN liquidity and value
The splinterlands statistics tool probably needs a update to process this upcoming release. So expect some days that the tool will not work.

Because Grain is bound to be in high demand, I expect we’ll see a lot of trading for it, which is great for the overall economy.

Important Note: If you have a Grain worksite on terrain that’s not compatible with Grain, it will automatically convert into Wood, Stone, or Iron upon first harvest. So no plot is wasted! Use it in your advantage

Totem Fragments

Another detail in Land 1.75 is the chance to acquire Totem Fragments now only when harvesting on Castles/Keeps or Resource-producing plots.
It’s a small chance, but it’s a fun little “jackpot” moment. I’m personally do not like this change, now its even a smaller chance on finding one, but hey—if it’s needed to keep the totem supply in check, I’m all for it.

How to Prepare: My Plan

If you’re unsure what to produce or how to balance your plots, you might want to switch everything to Grain a day before the release so that, upon update, those plots convert to the most optimal base resource they can be. Then, decide which ones to transition back to SPS or Resource production.

My personal approach:

Here are is my current plan and transition, i have highlighted the important change with red cicles.

Region 9This region will have no grain producing plot so need to get these plots grain. Here directly shows my problem. I need grain plots to feed 6 plots here 😕

Region 51My first and main region with a magic plot that needs to produce my main resource points.

Region 81My latest edition and well balanced plot. should be sustainable by itself an the all the produced good and excess grain will be transported

One major down side of having it in 3 regions i will need to pay the 12% transport fee when transported to the other region.... and i hope there will be tools in the future todo this automatically

Breakdown

  1. Extra Grain from Region 51 and Region 81 → goes to Region 9.
  2. Wood/Stone/Iron from Region 81 → goes to Region 51.
  3. Region 51 and Region 9 will produce resource points.

Below is a simple visual “map” of what I’m aiming for:

      Region 51 ------------\ Excess Grain
                             \
                              -->  Region 9  -->  Resource Points
                             /
                            / Excess Grain
      Region 81 -----------
                            \ Wood/Stone/Iron
                             \
                              -->  Region 51 --> Resource Points (100% bonus)

I’m a relatively small land owner, but I want to produce enough resource to stay active in the economy. Most of my plots will direct materials into just two main resource huts—one is magical, giving a 100% research bonus. Anything extra goes into the liquidity pools for now.

TIPS:

One tip i can give when this release is live and you are experiencing troubles with producing enough grain. there are few things you can do to increase the grain production.

1: Boosts Bonus

Place any title and totem or even a runi on those important grain plots.

2: Boosts PP (Production Power)

You might want to divide your best production power unit to grain producing plots.

3: Go with flow and buy grain

Might not be a real tip but just ignore grain and just buy it of the market might still be a valid strategy while it has major excess now, but for how long???

Closing Thoughts

All in all, Land Expansion 1.75 is a huge step. It gives us a taste of how the land economy will eventually tie together, especially when we get around (land 2.0) to crafting Items and Spells for actual gameplay.

I’ve personally expanded from 10 to 15 plots recently, and I’m still on the lookout for more.
The biggest hurdle? The staked DEC requirements (50k) plus the upcoming Conclave Arcana (CA) release—my DEC reserves can only stretch so far!

Exciting times are ahead for Splinterlands. I hope new players join and that the devs keep things fun for casual and smaller players too.

With each expansion, the land side of the game feels more dynamic and interconnected. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Thanks for reading, and feel free to share your own game plan and strategy for Land 1.75 below. Let’s keep each other updated on how our plots grow!

P.S. just a reminder on what has yet to come

Nice post, this is a very complicated passive gameplay :) I only have five plots all producing grain right now, so I guess it will be not that complicated for me.

Thanks!

Managing fewer land plots will definitely be easier, especially when they’re all in the same region—lucky you! 🤣

I noticed you're missing grain-producing plots. Are you planning to swao resources to secure the grain you need?

I can’t even imagine the challenge of managing an entire tract or region! 😕

Looking forward to managing my small number of plots unfortunately have a similar issue, my grain is in one region and everything else in another…

!BBH

Me too.. let the games begin😍

great post,
I have barely prepared for this update,
I look forward to (hopefully) regretting that someday ;p

Thank @basilmarples,

regretting.. hope not, just putting it in next gear and catch up 🤣.

I think the resource requirements are actually simple - it's all about base PP. You need = PP on grain to match all other plots producing whatever else. And in addition = base PP stone/wood/ ore to the base PP on yr research and sps slots.

Yeah you are absolute right... Also looking to boost my grain producing plots so i can match the rest, that will not be easy with 4(GRAIN) to 11 (OTHERS) plots. then take into account the boosting elements on the grain plots... this will needs some tweaking in upcoming weeks.

Just looked you up and i see that you have a tract with pretty amount of grain plots all up and running 😍... Much respect 💪

The number of plots isn't that important (within reason) - it's PP - you just need say gold cards or older cards on those rarer plots to balance....
