Good afternoon and welcome to another Splinterlands Battle Analysis :-)
This time I have a really fun game where I not only apply a strategy I recently learned, but also hold my ground against Zodin and Mantaroth at the same time!
The ruleset is Corrosive Fog and Target practice, so snipe for all magic + ranged monsters. It’s a Silver League Wild Tournament with 46 Mana.
Postion: In the front I placed Quora the allrounder. Why in first position? Because that way she only gets attacked by the tank and maybe a monster with reach and/or charge, and it’s likely that she can heal herself enough.
Position: First Martyr – this will be the first victim due to the snipe ruleset.
Position: Second Martyr – the second victim. Why in a row? Don’t I waste a bonus? Yes, but no. This way, Quora gets boosted by BOTH martyrs and hence amazing stats very quickly. I learned that the hard way :-D
Position: Dragon Spirit – with weapons training and extra speed plus flying, it’s not easy to get hit by the sniping ranged attacks.
Position: The almighty Rage. Boy, am I happy that I invested in this beast. He wins me so many battles.
Position: Thane Newsong – gets weapons training and gives extra damage to Quora
The enemy has a very strong line up, including Zoding and Mantaroth which I usually don’t win against very often, and almost never when used together. Corrosive fog will help against Mantaroth’s Armored Strike, which is good. Also, he basically bets all his martyrs on Mantaroth – which is great so you can see the fine line between the “Split Martyr” and the “Double Martyr” Strategy, and why the double is better (at least in this setup).
He also got 2 nice and tanky cards that will get ranged weapons training. Not a bad choice, especially since Zodin also gives a +1 range attack. Just the Onyx Sentinal is not the best choice due to it's very low speed, but it has shield.
The first round is a banger already. All martyrs get killed, one by Quora, giving her an extra boost. 2 misses by the enemy team extend lifepoints of all my participants - Speed is King! Without it, snipe with Zodin is a really, really tough combination.
Quora starts the second round with +3 stats, Mantaroth with +2. The Corrosive left the Roth with 1 armor, so Quora only takes 5 life from him. Almo gets killed by my back-line, not without missing the Dragon Spirit again – but so do the other two ranged, and now the advantage is very clear.
Starting round 3, Quora brings down the Mantaroth's health to only 1, and he manages to kill the Dragon Spirit due to explosion. But both enemy monsters are now on low health, and my team has still too much life to get into trouble. Also, the Onyx misses again – 1 speed against a flying 4 speed, who can blame it.
Quora easily takes out the Mantaroth, and Rage takes care of what is left of the Onyx Sentinel – it’s over.
Once again, a match where I got a bit scared when I saw the enemy at first glance. But even before starting the game, I ran a quick analysis and figured I could win this, and quite nicely – and so I did. I’m finally getting to the point that my strategy is helping me to win against some of those amazing cards that I don’t own nor rent, and that feels pretty good.
I hope you enjoy this analysis. If you have comments on strategy or want to show your own posts – just comment, I’ll drop by and leave a comment, too :-)

You're most welcome :-)
Nice strategy. As a fellow Quora user, I am familiar with the double martyr at the back during snipe ruleset. Since your Quora also doesn't have immunity, it is a bit protected from a lot of affliction monsters by being in front. I wonder if there's a better option than Thane, like clockwork, since you're going for speed, and only Quora has melee. But it is always a good feeling beating a Yodin.
Clockwork is a nice idea! I haven't integreted it into my strategies yet, since I never got it as soulbound and just purchased one card to have it. I'm always hesitant to use it in battles without void armor since it can be killed so easily - but in this setting it makes total sense, thank you!
You're welcome. Although, there is always the risk of a Chaos Dragon with Blast in a high mana battle. But yeah, it can be good when you're going for WT and speed anyways.
