I see it as a mix of both - I play it for fun, and only put money in there that I don't need at all and don't expect to grow over time. Anyhow, since I took advantage of the recent slump in SPS, I actually now get a decent ROI - at least from SPS :-D
I still have the vouchers in the Liquidity pool, but I never checked on what they're worth anymore. I like the idea of swapping them for special cards - cards that don't change the game, but can enhance some strategies. The recent newcomings in reward cards and the voucher card are a great addition to the game, not too overpowered - that also makes it more fun to play again.
In conclusion, I'm having a lot of fun in tournaments, brawls, and the occasional challenge (SBT is a great community!). I'm seeing progress in my gameplay, which is also satisfying. I think in order to have it get to Play2Earn, one has to really invest a lot of time and money, and that's not my path - but it's definitely possible :-)
Thank you for your post, it was a very interesting read!
Hehe yup I agree! I didn't really invest in the game except for the spellbook and it was easier to get up to speed back then because there were reward cards and no starter card penalties too. Nice ROI from timing of the SPS!
On Vouchers, yeah I guess the only route to "encash" is to swap for those cards when I have enough.
Yeah it's a lot of fun still, and I think it's more fun and less stressful to "ignore" the earnings aspect, otherwise, it's very easy to be disappointed at the outcome.
Thanks for sharing your view too!
