One of my best Twitter accounts is Splinterlands. It keeps me informed about all the important news in the ecosystem and #Hive posting events like a media challenge. In my opinion, those challenges are an incredible way of increasing the pride of being part of this community, as every player shares his/her game experience with others, allowing others to learn about everyone's successes and mistakes. For this one, I bring an in-depth tactical analysis of one of my favorite rulesets: Target practice, I will present my top modern taunt for this kind of combat and share some battles where I succeeded with my strat. Hope you like it!
Here I am and here I remain
The warning is not financial advice! - I bought a couple of node licenses for 1,5K and have seen some content creators selling them for the double amount of SPS that was bought one year ago. This is not my case, I will hold a couple of nodes for long. I love getting my 40SPS and 8 nodes 'for free' every day.
Target practice ruleset initial thoughts
For ones that are lost, target practice gives all Ranged and Magic attack Monsters the Snipe ability. So the best practice for this ruleset is placing a creature of this kind 2nd or 3rd if you play reach tank, that will attract the focus of enemy ranged damage. I build my army as I show in the figure:
I divide my battlefield into 3 parts:
- Frontline - formed by a tank or a tank and off-tank (as shown in the figure). The frontline will always focus on enemy tanks. The most important thing about this ruleset is that you will avoid most of the magical damage and this will be properly reduced if well played.
2.- Ranged taunter: the first place from positions 2 to 6 where you place a non-melee, ranged unit, will be focused by all enemy ranged. Try to bring defensive abilities, auto heals and triages... Every step you invest in survivability will be a little step towards victory.
3.- Rest of the team - Here is the last part but not the least important. Will u support your frontline? Are u prepared for melee sneakers and opportunity?
Best Chaos Legion Snip-taunters for Target practice ruleset:
In my opinion, in the name of this creature, there's his main purpose. You must extend Chaos into enemy creatures making them waste attacks into him while your army takes a turn by turning his objectives. There are not many things more annoying than attacking an enemy army with a Chaos Agent placed in the right place, doing what he knows best: Chaos. There are plenty of scenarios where Chaos Agent shines greatly described in the picture that follows:
Equal opportunity: If chaos legion is the lowest health creature placed closest to the first position will taunt all attacks. As simple as that, and as difficult to remember when you've got only 3 minutes to decide your army.
Super Sneak: Place him in the last position of your army to taunt all melee that will attack there. If lucky, he will taunt 2 or 3 attacks, earning precious time for our army.
Target practice In this scenario all Ranged and Magic creatures will attack him if placed second and the first creature is melee. In this case remember that in Silver tier matches, Agent can evade Magic.
Life Equalizer: The only thing more annoying than a 4-health Chaos Agent is a 15-health Chaos Agent. Does the enemy play Grum? Time for Chaos! ^^ Place him first and he will evade more than 1 attack!
Other Battle conditions: In standard rules, he can be placed as a tank as a time winner, armored up. + 2 health for him! Holy protection? Extra hit!.... As you can see the limit is only where your game understanding reaches.
If I have presented the best in-game chance for one mana, Pelacor Conjurer, has this honor in 2 Mana creatures. One day we will remember we were rewarded with this card just for playing the game. Pelacor has Divine Shield, Magic reflection, and can evade magic. Another headache to our opponents that I will show in the next battle example. It was a 33 Mana, ArmoredUp, Rise of the Commons & Target practice with only Fire and Life alternatives. The board is the next as shown in the figure:
I bring this example because is so illustrative, almost the same creatures are ordered very differently. My Blinding Reflector was placed first, boosting my Pelacor Conjurer with another 15% absolute evade rate thanks to the blind. My Pelacor taunted enemy magics and ranged. My opponent made misplacements and exposed his valuable time mage to all my ranged fire. I leave you the entire battle here.
What can I say to my little girl that has not been told yet? I am in love with her. There are lots of matches where she has brought me to victory thanks to her unrivaled survival toolkit, her magical resistance, and also her in-battle modifiers with strength and slow. @hawks21 is one of the biggest defenses of this girl and I have learned a lot thanks to his tactical analysis. I bring you an in-game example, a 38 mana, close range, target practice n silenced summoners.
In a battle where both payers chose that legendary girl, it was decided by details. Although both of us made a mistake (Tide Bitter last positioned on my opponent and me playing Musa Saline), the game was decided because I had a beefier frontline, supported by Merdali's guardian. I leave you the entire battle here
Finally, I would like to share my thoughts about another complementary ability, that increases its value in higher mana battles and also in enrage ones: Blockshield. Blockshield is the most annoying ability in the game because interrupts greedy and strong attacks. Transforming 5+ damage into 1 is something that nobody of us would like to suffer. In this role, Oshannus and Prismologist take an impressive role.
So I hope I help you to increase your win rate in these combat situations. What are your stats for this ruleset? Do u have another best summoner thant Life / Water? Please comment below!
