One of my best Twitter accounts is Splinterlands. It keeps me informed about all the important news in the ecosystem and #Hive posting events like a media challenge. In my opinion, those challenges are an incredible way of increasing the pride of being part of this community, as every player shares his/her game experience with others, allowing others to learn about everyone's successes and mistakes. For this one, I bring my complete Roadmap and how I am preparing for the Land 1.5 release! Hope you like it!
The day I became a farmer in Splinterverse
We are very close to the Land 1.5 release. We hope access is granted to the Mav chat this weekend. This is the beginning of a new era in Splinterlands and I want to be prepared. When Land 1.5 gets released, a major sink of cards will be summoned to Splinterlands. I don't know how this will affect card prices or the rental market. The only thing I've done related to Lands has been acquiring a couple of my beloved Runis. My roadmap has been designed thanks to the generosity of the community, especially the Hawk's Nest - the best Discord Channel in all Splinterlands if you need access to good advice - I love you @emakulator, and thanks for all your time and attention! I have also reached out to the land gurú @goldmatters who has helped me in the Runi shopping process and taking some decisions.
Related to land, every Splinterlands player has to take his/her own decisions. Every one of us has a budget, a risk level where we feel comfortable (Never invest money that you can't afford to lose), but also a collection, titles, and Runis.
Maybe it has taken me a bit longer, and maybe if I had things clear earlier I would have taken other decisions. Considering my circumstances, I believe that the wiser decision would be getting a couple of plots that take most of the profit from my Runi boost. In the first step I tried to search for a Rare Magical and an Epic, but there were no offers in the same region (those fees inter-region must be avoided). And then I remembered my days of playing Age of Empires and remembered that every Empire begins with the most basic resource. The grain. Why if I tried to pick a couple of Epic plots (this 40% base boost is enormously juicy!) that could absorb my MVP's cards that grant me the most collection points? And producing the base element gives me more flexibility about location because I will act as a primary producer and I will sell the Grain to market. This is my major approach to land and I will explain how I will deal with it.
Shopping process and managing the budget
It's late in the night in my hometown Barcelona, and half a dozen hours earlier in Panama. This game offers great opportunities to get in touch with fantastic people all over the world who share the same passion for #Splinterlands. Every day that Web 3.0 gets stronger, the more global we become. After hours and hours of generosity, @emakulator whose CP and assets are unreachable to me gives his approval to the final approach: 2 Epics, no matter the region and focused to produce grain. He also helps me in the research via @peakmonsters (thanks for making economical transactions on Splinterlands so easy!)
So for 335$ I will set my first step in the production chain of Praetoria. I know it's a humble investment compared to the whales out there. But here I am! With my couple of Runis ready to produce grain all over the world! I will use the rest of my 500$ budget to prepare the land! You will see how in the figure that follows!
When I first read about @yabapmatt 's purpose in setting a cost for Soulbound cards to be eligible to produce in the land I felt very discouraged. I could not understand why I have to pay a fee for all my effort. I am a top Diamond / Low Champion modern player who rents most of his collection. I am improving my results thanks to my reward Chaos Legion collection. Why a fee? But I must understand that these decisions are made for the global economical balance of the game. I've managed to get some epic pulls as you can see in the figure.
These pulls represent the stronger part of my collection in terms of production but also will represent 400K DEC invested in unsoulbounding cards. Again, I will accept the challenge and pay the fee. I understand that this fee benefits the global flow of the game. But there's a fantastic detail on my side. Vouchers are accepted! Now the two silent nodes that grant me 40SPS and 8 Vouchers daily make sense. Got 1200 Vouchers ready that will halve the investment from 400k to 200k DEC. Not Bad! Also will need to spend 10K DEC in 2 Power Core to allow us to get the 6th worker.
Once I get my task force ready time to clear the land! I've made some calcs and I will need around 30 days to clear my swamp and 47 days to clear my hill. Don't know if I will spend the budget in time crystal or maybe I assume this time as a part of the process. Will depend on how expensive will be the grain on the first days!
I am very happy with the couple of lands I have managed to get in terms of card production boost. My Swamp will be the home of Water / Death cards as they get a 10 % boost. My hill will be the home of my Nature n Life that will be also boosted a 10%, but dragon and fire are also welcome with no debuff in PP! which is not bad for a couple of great fire cards. This is what they look like.
