Today’s update brings a transformative revamp to the free-to-play experience, giving new players expanded access to gameplay features, Glint rewards, and collection building tools even before they purchase a Spellbook. Additionally, this patch introduces gameplay enhancements, land updates, and qualityof life improvements to ensure a smoother and more immersive experience. Here’s everything you need to know!
✨ Free-to-Play Enhancements! ✨
With the revamped system, players can now explore the world of Splinterlands like never before:
Earn Glint from Ranked Victories: Starting in Bronze League, all players can accumulate Glint, creating a rewarding experience right from the start.
1x Base Modifier for Glint: Regardless of whether players have staked SPS, everyone benefits from a 1x Glint modifier.
Starter Card Penalty Removed: Enjoy earning Glint without the previously applied penalty on starter cards.
League Advancement Rewards for All: Experience a smoother progression with rewards as you climb the ranks.
Players can now participate in core activities without a Spellbook, including:
Joining a guild, purchasing Credits, and buying cards.
Receiving gifts (packs, cards), participating in Brawls, earning Merits, renting cards, and more!
However, a Spellbook is still needed to access premium features like selling or transferring cards, listing for rent, holding DEC or SPS, joining tournaments, or creating a guild.
Starter Card Simplification: Only the oldest cards from the two Modern format sets (currently Chaos Legion) are selectable for new players, easing the onboarding process.
Unique Username Option: New players can select a name with the suffix "_lite," which can be removed upon purchasing a Spellbook.

Clearer Ruleset Descriptions: Many rulesets have been updated for improved clarity.
Ruleset Renaming: The “FabFour” is now called “Four’s A Crowd,” while “FiveAlive” has been updated to “High Five.”
Starter Card Checkbox Fix: Resolved an issue where the “Hide Starter Cards” checkbox displayed incorrectly during Open/Ghost Card battles.
🏝️ Land Updates 🏝️
- Power Cores and Time Crystals: These items can now be purchased with Credits, and any Credits spent on them will lead to the burning of an equivalent amount of DEC by the company.
⚒️ General Quality-of-Life Improvements ⚒️
Seasonal Artwork Adjustments: Halloween visuals have been removed as we transition out of the holiday season.
SPS Rental Market Update: An Academy Panel is now available, allowing easier access to SPS rental details.
Enhanced Notifications: Users now receive a notification when receiving items (Titles, Avatars) from other players.
Improved Display Adjustments: Several fixes for tournament types, mobile displays, and card combination pop-ups ensure a cleaner visual experience.
Rebellion Cards Update: More detailed progress indicators have been added for Rebellion-era cards.
Market & Collection Filters: Chaos Legion rewards have been separated into account-bound and non-account-bound rewards, making it simpler to navigate.
Enhanced Card Details: Missing options have been restored for unbound cards, including price updates and extended lock durations.
Consistent Mobile Balances: Balance displays now round more uniformly on mobile devices.
Guild Tavern Chat Indicator: Notifications for Guild Tavern Chat now display more consistently.
Historical Currency Export: Reinstated the ability to export currency records prior to 2022.
Referral Links: Added back the referral option on shareable battle and rewards links.
