Hey Summoners,
This round i am gonna do something i have not done before which is a NO ABILITIES Slugfest !! Why am i torturing my readers on this because so happen this week's Battle Challenge is a creature with ZERO Abilities lol, so what better way is there to showcase the space which this creature can compete in than in a ZERO abilities fight in Diamond Level !! Cha Chinggg
My thoughts on the Kulu Kulu
Ummmm i am not sure what to review on this as this as base as it gets. In Magic The Gathering terms this what know as a Generic Creature lol...seriously to showcase this as a weekly battle challenge might be a joke in the part of the Splinterlands team.
Just like in other Card games no-way i am putting a Generic creature in my line-up especially in high level plays that depends alot card abilities in Gold and Diamond.
Kulu Kulu might be only good in a Back to Basics ruleset as the base stats without abilities is slightly better that its same mana cost counterparts with Abilities.
Summoner - Kelya Frendul
I am too poor to have Old Man Magic or Valnamor so this is my Go-To Summoner for Water Splinter. Move Faster is always good except reverse speed and 1 lonesome armor blocks even the hardest non-magic damage.
The Battle Rules @ Diamond 2
- 46 Mana
- Back to Basics
- Divine Shield
- Fire / Water / Life / Dragon
Strategy
Soooo back to basics i normally will use either Earth (Magic Spam) or Yodin (Blast is good) but i came out with an idea to even the playing field a little bit to see if i can complete this week's Battle Challenge....so Water with Kulu is my choice !
The Lineup
As this is No Abilities....key is the front few creatures must be tanky and speedy enough...
Da Tank - Deimonshark
Just slapping something tanky here to take the brunt of da damage. Decently fast and have quite high health + armor.Off-Tank - Prismatic Energy
Again i am going for Health and Speed. Usually an excellent Anti-Magic creature...now its basically another meat shield. Absorb or dodge as much damage as it can...a foot race i intend to winOff-Tank - Djinn Oshanus
Same as above.DPS - Nerissa Tridawn
Another creature with No Abilities and its actually quite a decent DPS in higher levels but unfortunately mine is only lvl 3...still shes got the damage and tankiness.DPS - Kulu Swimhunter
Far away in the back to hopefully deal some damage.DPS - Gem Meteor
Decent damage and speed to get that damage in.

During Round 1 I managed to kill that cube and forced a Resurrection from the Summoner's ability. Speed looks to be the key as i should easily take out the cube again plus severely damage the flying cat in Round 2
Surprised...as we move to Round 3 my tank is still very much alive tanks to this Shark getting some lucky dodges in. He should be dead this round though but so will that cat...after the cat dies should be easy pickings already.
Round 4 With my massive HP and Armor left i don't think they can deal me much damage especially once the flying bird dies, the Big Eyeball doesn't have any abilities which means it cannot attack....Dr Blight's Measly 2 damage per turn is not gonna do anything.
Conclusion & VICTORY
Hardly a showcase piece being no abilities match but it does show that when there is no abilities this Generic cards are slightly more powerful stats wise.
I think i won also because my opponent uses the wrong Summoner. Due to no abilities ONLY THE TANK gets damage so the Backline Heal ability does nothing. Also the armor repair works for the Flying Tiger....Where as my Summoner gives everyone Speed and a Extra Armor point.
Kulu will usually not be in the list of 4 Cost unit to choose from if Abilities are present as there are much better Water 4 Cost in the game. But for cases like shown here when there are no abilities...this might work.
Special Thanks to @nane-qts for creating such amazing Dividers that i am using here.
