Plotting Success in Lonshire: My Splinterlands Story

in Splinterlands21 hours ago

IMG_1203.jpeg Last evening, as I usually do, I harvested my Land plots in my favorite game in the web3 space, @splinterlands, & uncovered something special & exciting. A Legendary Totem Fragment was unearthed! This is a truly rare find & alongside 3 more Legendary fragments, can be combined to form a fully functioning Legendary Totem.

Why is that cool?!?

Well, once combined to form a full Totem, these bad boys can be placed on any Land Plot in the game to boost your plot's production by 100%!!! Epics bump it by 50%, Rares by 25%, and a Common giving a 10% bonus. With Master Dev @cryptomancer showing off some recent Land Alpha & the next stages of that sector ready to rock in the very near future, assets such as these will prove to be invaluable. Currently, just one of these Legendary Fragments sells for around $115 bucks…but I’m absolutely keeping mine. This puts me just 1 away from combining yet another Full Legendary. Bangin!!!

I know for myself, I have put a ton of time, energy, effort, planning, passion, and of course…money into my Land endeavors. I’ve positioned myself solely in the Great Lowlands with my main home base sitting in beautiful Lonshire (Region 119). I’m fortunate to have won the Plotto Lotto & snagged myself the Castle there. That affords me the ability to collect a tax on all of the other nearly 1000 plots active in the region…forever…on all resources. Which to be honest, isn’t terribly impressive thus far. But that’s all about to change…

Up until this point, the only resources one could mine have been Grain, Research, & good ol’ $SPS. With one of the next big Land updates coming to the project, that changes drastically as Wood, Stone, & Iron get added to the mix. This shakeup means that those who wish to continue to rack up Research Points or add SPS to their coffers will not only need to feed the necessary grain to their workers but will also need the appropriate amounts of the 3 new resources as well. Long story short…Research & SPS will be a lot harder to come by. Definitely thankful to myself for going full steam ahead on both of these since Land’s initial Launch.

Going heavy on Research thus far has also afforded and awarded me the Magister Pre Fix title. This isn’t just any ordinary title as it adds on a tasty bonus of 35% during ranked play. I think I should be secure in keeping this as I’m a good 500k worth ahead of my next closest competition, and even then…top 5 after the Overseer (1st in each region) all snag that Magister. So…a good pat on my back for making this work. But back to resources for a sec…

This also means that the majority of folks will fall short of the necessary resources to harvest. That’s where the Internal Markets will come into play to swap your excess Wood for Stone or whatever combo you need to make it work. So I am pretty excited to see how all of that plays out, especially since I get a cut of all of those yummy resources. (Cue sinister laughter & hand rubbing) Ultimately, as is the way in Splinterlands, I am not prepared…even though I’ve spent a ton of the past year and a half getting prepared. 🤷‍♂️

I do expect to top the 2 million Research mark within the next couple of weeks. My hope is that those that had the fortitude to utilize their land for this purpose will be rewarded greatly. The new Survival Mode is going to introduce a new potion to help get your cards cooled down quicker, and those tasty concoctions are supposed to be created straight from the land owners themselves. A good first step to showcase just how impactful Land can be in other aspects of the game.

I look forward to the day when we can tend the land, play the fully realized Resource Management game within, and have the end goal be the creation of the new Items & Spells cards. That pitch by the man, the myth, the legend himself @yabapmatt, is what wrangled me into the project to begin with years back & I’m excited beyond belief to watch us inch closer to that reality. But until that day comes, I’ll be constantly tweaking and tinkering to maximize my output.

I’ll also make a plea to come join us in Lonshire (119) if looking for a good place to hunker down. We are the 2nd most active region in the Great Lowlands and have a great group of dedicated lovers of the project. So come join myself & my hardcore homies in one of the overall best spots in all of Praetoria. Wow!!!!!Blewitt, what an amazing Splinterlands update!Finding that Legendary Totem Fragment is incredible–what a lucky find!Your strategy for focusing on Lonshire and maximizing resource production sounds incredibly well-planned.I'm especially excited about the upcoming changes with Wood,Stone, and Iron–it sounds like a game-changer.Your post is a great example of how strategic planning and dedication can pay off in Splinterlands.

Congrats on the Legendary! The highest totem fragment I have discovered is Rare.

Lonshire is my home in Praetoria as well so I am one of your taxpayers. Once the new update comes out I am planning on stopping my Research. I'll just focus on producing the new resources for Lonshire - Wood, Stone, and Iron.
