The "old" Battle Challenges are now a thing of the past (at least for now?) and they have been replaced with the "Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Card Strategy Guides".
For any old Hivers/Splinterland players who've just come back and are confused, fret not! Even with the name and format tweaks, right at it's core, battles are still the foundation of these posts.
In this week's edition of my Card Strategy Guides, I will do something drastically different from my usual battle showcases. Instead of war, I will become a peaceful teacher showing all new players how to most effectively navigate the topic of card strategy. It might sound hard, but it is actually far easier than it seems. With some help, even the dumbest of blokes can learn to become the Art of War's Sun Tzu reborn! π
No matter! I present to you β Card Strategy Guides.
So without further ado, let me introduce how best to navigate this seemingly impossible task to you! π
In Splinterlands, mastering card strategy is the key to victory, whether youβre going solo or squaring off in tournaments. This weekβs spotlight falls on specific cards and deadly combos that, when played right, can shift the odds in your favour. Letβs dive into some potent card combinations and break down their unique strengths, giving you the edge in battle.
βοΈπ‘οΈPower Pairings for Dominating Battlesπ‘οΈβοΈ
With all that being said, here is how I would advice ALL players on how you should start on your journey to becoming a master Manager or Scholar!
Strategy Guide: Power Pairings for Dominating Battles
Combo #1: Elven Mystic + Swamp Thing
Ideal for weakening enemy defenses and amplifying your attacks.
Elven Mystic
- Ability: Silence (reduces enemy Magic attack)
- Strengths: Great for countering Magic-heavy teams. Its Silence ability weakens enemy spells, making it a staple against opponents who rely on Magic damage.
Swamp Thing
- Ability: Weaken (reduces all enemy health)
- Strengths: A resilient choice for reducing enemy team health across the board, making it easier for even low-damage allies to score KOs.
Strategic Advantage: This combo suppresses both Magic attacks and health across the enemy team, creating an advantage against high-damage attackers and Magic-heavy lineups.
Combo #2: Flesh Golem + Goblin Sorcerer
This combination excels in matches where survivability is key.
Flesh Golem
- Ability: Heal (self-healing each round)
- Strengths: An outstanding tank with self-healing. This card stays in the fight longer, sustaining your front line.
Goblin Sorcerer
- Ability: Sneak (targets enemy backline)
- Strengths: The Sneak ability allows it to chip away at the enemyβs weaker backline units, making it highly effective for clearing out support cards.
Strategic Advantage: The Flesh Golem holds the front line while Goblin Sorcerer disrupts the enemy backline. This combo works best when dealing with fragile support units or high-DPS enemies.
Combo #3: Divine Healer + Armorsmith
A duo for battles where you expect to face sustained damage over time.
Divine Healer
- Ability: Tank Heal (heals the front-line tank)
- Strengths: Keeps your front-line tank alive longer, which is invaluable in sustained fights.
Armorsmith
- Ability: Repair (restores armor of damaged allies)
- Strengths: Adds armor to your team, further protecting the tank and prolonging the survival of your frontline.
Strategic Advantage: A resilient choice for sustained battles. Divine Healer and Armorsmith continuously restore health and armor, letting you outlast opponents in high-damage situations.
