(Right off, I want to apologize for those involved, that this post is coming so late. I had promised a wrap-up of the event be posted, and the Holidays and real life intervened, but I felt that we had such a great time, and the sponsors of the event deserved recognition and for me to stop slacking.)
With that said, I want to call out TrashPanda and BlazeKOS. TrashPanda had the idea for the event and was the major provider of prizes and BlazeKOS graciously kicked in some as well, after we discussed the event.
The first four Sundays of December 2024 I hosted and played varying levels and rulesets of ghost card matches against everyone that showed up to my special Sunday edition livestream. (At first it seemed that we were putting the ghost card system to the test because we had run into some issues, but after Blaze reported these, they seemed to clear up on the next three episodes.)
The goal was to play until eight people were able to beat me on each episode. Each day also featured 2-4 nice card/pack giveaways to those attending and those winners were selected randomly.
I'm not a top level player, but I can hold my own in some situations, so some livestreams ended up going 2+ hours, while some cut off at 1 1/2 hours. Each winner took home a nice portion of SPS for their efforts each week. At the end of the event, after four livestreams we added up all of those who beat me and the top five persons who posted the most wins versus me, took home leaderboard prizes of cards, packs and more SPS.
Examples of cards donated and given away: The Vigilator, Void Dragon, Riklauniman, Anachron Bolter, Elias Max Pruitt, Nidhoggr, Henchling Enforcer, Baron Fyatt. Max levels and gold foils mixed in.
Riftwatcher and Rebellion packs were also given away to spice things up.
