According to the recent Splinterlands AMA, The Founders reported that the Chaos Legion packs are expected to be released in the next 2 months and will be sold for $2 just like they always have. The founders also reported that Chaos legion cards will have a much higher mintage than previous card sets (Alpha, Beta, Untamed, Promo, Rewards, Dice). Considering how you can pay in credits through paypal (unlike Dice packs) one can assume that these cards are going to sell fast despite their high mintages, while Older versions that are no longer usable in ranked matches may take a dip. For example, Alric stormbringer and Valnamor will not be usable in standard matches when the new cards are released so it can be expected that Untamed summoners like Bortus may increase in value. Another thing to look out for is a plus 1 magic summoner being released in the Chaos Legion Deck to replace Alric and Valnamor. Considering how water is so heavily magic this would only make sense.

I hope that the new packs will balance some of the imbalances of the game, like water having less melee and death having weak hp.
I think that's the whole point of the different Splinters.... they have different strengths and weaknesses.
This is exactly why I expect another Plus 1 Magic summoner to be introduced in Chaos legion. Without Alric and Valnamor the traditional dynamic of the water Splinter will be off. Because of this I am holding off on leveling up Summoners like Bortus and crossing my fingers that I'll be able to find a better summoner for around the same price considering they will have a much higher mintage.
