Rule Sets: Earthquake and Stampede

Battles in Splinterlands can be a caused of great frustration. For example; before I won my first fight for the day, I’ve lost six consecutive battles. Yes, six... I'm not sure how or why it happened but it's either my opponents' splinter of choice counter that of mine or my opponents' cards are leveled.

You might be thinking that I suck in this game, right? Well, let me tell you friend that you’re… absolutely correct. Yes, I’m pretty bad at playing this game. But this article is not whether I suck at the game or not but rather, about the particular match in the video.

In this battle, my lost was almost certain since I made a mistake in my choice of monster cards. Instead of using a monster with the Fly ability, I used a monster with Opportunity instead. The reason for it was because I ran out of time trying to find what I believed was the best splinter to use. Fortunately, one specific rule set saved the day. Thanks to that rule set I was able to escape from the clutches of defeat. Pretty dramatic I know.

But in all seriousness though, this match is really close. So close in fact that even I couldn’t believe that I even won. I mean, I literary skipped the battle after seeing my opponent cutting through my units like hot knife on butter.

But when I saw the result of the battle I was greatly surprised so I quickly clicked the replay button to find out how I won the match – and what I saw made me laugh out loud.

What made me laugh though wasn’t the fact that I won but rather the unpredictability of RNG. After all I’m a victim of said unpredictability as well.

What I mean to say was that I too lost battles that I should have won because of RNG, and it was very frustrating to say the least. And seeing a victory that should have been his must have frustrated my opponent greatly. I mean who would't?

But that's just how the game works. The battles' unpredictability is probably one of the reason why Splinterlands was so addictive. Of couse that biggest reason be the game's play-to-earn nature but that's beside the point...

Anyways, I won’t go into many details about the battle because it’s already in the video. If you're curious I suggest just watchng it then tell me what you think in the comment section.

That’s all for now. Thank you for your time.
