Continued Accumulation
If anything, the new training mode which actually is way more fun than ranked still shows the potential of Splinterlands even though it goes completely against new players buying assets as it's completely Free2Play. The team continues to fail in finding proper ways to make assets more desirable and valuable as every dynamic in place to help the economy makes the game less fun and harder to get into by new players. However, I still hope that some day they see the light and implement the obvious solutions and I remain committed to re-invest HBD earnings into the game despite it feeling like throwing away money. There is just something about collecting and leveling them to max level that continues to be a lot of fun.
Welcome To The Family New Max Level Cards
I added 6 new cards at Max Level in the last month of accumulation which include some more expensive ones.
Older Cards!
These are some of the older cards that used to be crazy expensive that I bought for a way price lower than what they cost the ones who collected them initially.
#1 Chain Golem
This is the main Untamed Legendary Promo Card with only 1000 Copies available. It is quite powerful as it has both Shield and Void which effectively halves all the damage to a tank which can be healed and repaired. However, the 2 speed is what really screws it over as it will likely cause many misses in a meta were speed still is king. So only really on reverse speed rules it's super useful. This is also the reason why it's only going for 3.5$ or so a card right now. The last time it was played by archmage was 2 hours ago. It also is a Neurtral card which are extra useful to have at max level.
#2 Prismatic Energy
This is what I would say is one of the Meta cards still as it's a Neutral card that is one of the best for Magic Damage both having Reflection and Void. It also has quite some health and now at max level 3 magic damage which is a big difference compared to level 7 where I had it before. It does come at a price though as I paid 27$+ to get it from level 5 to level 8 (94 BCX). It is a card that should help my win rate and ranking a bit but nowhere near compared to what it actually costs.
#3 Screechin Vulture
These older Common cards are actually very expensive as they need 505 Common cards to be combined to reach Max Level and the last level increase demands 200 copies. However, the difference between level 9 and Max is quite big with 3 vs 2 Melee damage. I like the dynamic of Opportunity even though it actually isn't that strong unless you uses multiple of these cards especially in lower mana battles. So it is a rather niche card but I'm glad I got it now leveled to the max. It did cost just shy of 10$ to get 172 extra cards that I was missing.
#4 Centauri Mage
This is one of those cards that was not really needed to level up but it was quite affordable so I did it anyway to get 1 extra speed and 1 extra Magic attack. It however hasn't been used by archmage in the last 3 days.
Chaos Legion Cards!
I also still haven't fully completed my Chaos Legion set at max level aside from the Legendaries. So I continue each month to buy a couple extra.
#5 Hunter Jarx
the true aim is a quite useful ability in a meta where speed still rules. This offsets the low speed of the cards and the 5 damage is vulnerable for the ability that counters it but it will rarely happen also because it has the snipe ability. It's another cheap cards just to have it.
#6 Gem Meteor
This is another Epic card that is potentially useful as a Neutral Card with the Scatterhot ability and Piercing where the 4 damage instead of 3 makes quite the difference. It still feels a bit underpowered though.
SPS Accumulation
Last report I had 286k SPS (Link) while now it's 297k as I bought 2000 extra today meaning and 5000 after making the last report. So in total the last 28 days I earned around 4500 SPS. However, the value went from 2311$ to 2044$ which sucks.

Conclusion!
I still feel cards are pretty cheap right now despite not having full confidence in Spliterlands. So the continued card accumulation I see more as fun expenses in the hope that Bull market money one day will come in pushing these illiquid cards much higher again.

You are basically dollar cost averaging into SPS and Cards :) And yes everything in Splinterlands is really cheap now, if everyone had confidence in Splinterlands assets would not be cheap...
That's the thing in that you don't know. For all I know Splinterlands will never recover and die a slow death which certainly isn't unthinkable. That's usually how it goes, once prices pumped all the new guys look back at the old ones who managed to buy at cheap prices but at that time the uncertainty was just massive.
One thing is sure, the potential for Splinterlands really is there but the devs just need to change their way of going about things which doesn't really look like it. I see all of it now more as an expense instead of an investment.
Nice! Those were some really good cards that you maxed. I often use Centauri Mage and Prismatic Energy in particular when I am just new to the game.
The Prismatic Energy is one that really gets used a lot and rightfully so, I'm glad I finally have it at max level and I hope it will make a difference. Neutral cards also have so many opportunities to be played.
