Splinterlands | More Cards & SPS Accumulation!

in Splinterlands19 hours ago

Even though I'm not that bullish on Splinterlands, something in me still enjoys building my card collection getting more Max Level Cards at current prices. I continued to used part of my Blogging Earnings to but these cards...

Leveling Cards is Not The Optimal Strategy!

Just looking at the expected value, right now likely either buying SPS or buying single Summoners which are the cheapest feels like the best options. SPS as a long-term play as the market cap basically is a joke while there is demand and more of it over time will get burned especially if it goes lower. With the soon-to-be-released Survival mode, the demand for Summoners which again are going to be the bottleneck should spike pushing the prices up.

I do however like the process of slow accumulation and still feel that the only real way for Splinterlands to survive and thrive is for the card price gap to be closed and older Max Level cards to get most of the use-case and value. Basically I see this as an expense in the hope some day I will be glad that I continued buying.

Welcome To The Family New Max Level Cards

These are the cards that I accumulated in the last month since my last update:

Legendary Chaos Legion Core Set Cards

There were 3 Legendary Cards of the Core Chaos Legion Set that so far I only had at level 3 which I now also upgraded to MAX Level. These are the Iza The Fanged which is a card that actually is rarely ever used as the last time my archmage bot played it was 19 days ago. at 0.5$ for a single cards it pretty much equals the DEC burn value at peg so limited downside while there is some upside in case Splinterlands succeeds to attract new players. The Djinn Muirat is a card that is played regularly with the last time 10 Hourse ao. The extra level also makes it quite a bit stronger as it gets extra survivability with the Forcefield Ability making it so that 5+ damage attacks only do 1 Damage. The Grum Flamablade I was actually hesitant to get from Level 3 to Level 4 as tha +1 Melee Damage from 4 to 5 in some matches will be a massive disadvantage. At the same time though it gets also +1 Health.

This now makes me own all the Chaos Legion core set and Reward Card #1 Set at max level.

Older Useful Fun Cards!

The Boogeyman is one of the cards I have had an eye to to get to max level for some time mainly because it perfectly fits into a Death Speed Deck that I really enjoy to play with and extra Demoralise ability at max Level. at around 0.20$ a card I was comfortable to finally get it to max level and I hope to have some fun with it in the future or now in the Brawls.

Neutral / Water Magic Attack Cards!

After buying a max level Arlic Stormbringer +1 Magic Beta Water Summoner, I needed to enforce my Magic Attack cards to fully benefit from it.

This made me first of all buy the Ice Pixie at max level to replace my level 3 card as I managed to pick it up at a very affordable 13.547$ price. It also is quite a useful card and it's used regularly in different lineups by Archmage.
I also bought a max level Neutral Magi Of Chaos for 6.467$ which is part of the Chaos Legion Set. This one is actually less powerful because it has a useless ability ever since the Weapons Training Ability was introduced which makes it so that there are almost no more monsters with zero attack. The 4 Magic attack and the fact that it's a neutral card though make it useful in some specific game rules.

The Captain' Ghost is one where Max Level gives a pretty big jump with 1 more Magic attack. It was not used much at level 7 but it seems to have increased now.

Fun More Expensive Card!

The War Chaang was the first double attack card and in certain rule sets especially when buffed by a Martyr ability. I pushed it up from level 4 to Max level which both increased the Melee and Ranged attack by +1. I paid around 11$ for the upgrade.

Other Chaos Legion Card!

Finally, I also upgraded the Grund, Weirding Warrior and the River Nymph not so far above the DEC burn value.

SPS Accumulation

The last update was about a month a go and I added 7304 SPS of which 3000 I bought on the market. The overall value however went down from 2873$ to now 2311$. On the bright side, this increases my chance to reach 300k+ and I do plan on buying some more the coming month.

Last TimeNow

Conclusion!

I still feel cards are pretty cheap right now despite not having full confidence in Spliterlands. So the continued card accumulation I see more as fun expenses in the hope that Bull market money one day will come in pushing these illiquid cards much higher again.

Sort:

Magi of Chaos does double damage to attackless monsters, even if they are weapons-trained.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that!

Yeah it was new to me, too but then I got my butt kicked by it :-)

Keep on stacking SPS! Not as sure about old cards, though Chaos should be pretty safe...
