Card Impressions

Now down to business, Ant miners is currently a reward card that costs 2 has 1 health 1 speed 1 melee attack and scavenge at lvl 1. This card remains a great two cost, if he gets the time to survive and gain greater hp. Eventually getting armor plating, greater attack power, and speed. Ant miners is a force to reckoned with, but can also be countered and prevented easily aswell. Like with many cards in Splinterlands this card functions better in particular rulesets. What comes to mind is the "equalizer" ruleset because it removes ant miners one major flaw, his low hp. Many of you probably have ant miners, and in fact this is not the first battle challenge that has happened for this bone-picking insectoid. (Much earlier battle challenge here). So if you are looking for even more information or inspiration check out that previous post too for additional strategy tips and tricks.
Strategy And Placement
As you can see here I utilize the equalizer ruleset to in fact amplify the health of ant miners, but sadly that works to little avail. He dies in round one due to the enemy also anticipating a high health card to buff his health stats. Which is easily possible. However since the highest hp on the field is 4.
Ant miners remains meagre and gets swatted down by serpentine spy before my team can even attack, in a different situation with a higher health card in play or with ant miner's armor plating at lvl 6 this may have not been the case. Despite this, Grenadier in the backline worked wonders and ant miners works as an excellent buffer.
Upon the first volley, grenadier roasts furious chicken due to the doubled blast damage from oppress. That's right, that IS how it works. Grenadier being a great 3 cost vs attackless tanks was a natural pick for the ruleset (There usually is at the very least a chicken if not also an ooze). Grenadier and flame imp take down both Naga Soldier AND Serpentine Spy.
This rapid exchange only left battering ram and elven cutthroat. Even though only Grenadier and imp remain my only attackers the enemy forces are overwhelmed due to blast. However as a low mana fight using a legendary summoner was a risky move, I could've easily been overwhelmed despite having blast and additional ranged attack. All it would've taken was more concentrated fire to my backline/frontline or a creature with return fire and this battle would have ended quite differently.
I've Got A Bone To Pick With You Giveaway
This week I will be delegating an Ant Miners to a random lucky induvial who both likes AND comments on this post. Tell me what you think, Any comment is golden. As far as last weeks winners go (well at this point a bit over a week ago sorry for tardiness) they are @picsahuszar and @squishna
Talking Tidbits And Conclusion
According to the lore, ant miners were discovered by kobolds deep within the molten mountains and are the size of your fist. However, like real world fire ants they move in large groups with great organization. Scavenge was likely the ability leant to the card to appropriately simulate their "amassing numbers". In any case it's a good scavenger as long as he's not the first to take the hits. Opportunity can be an "opportunistic" ability to take down this little guy, this can be avoided with the proper spacers (Highlighted in my battle post from many moons ago). Overall Ant miners is a good card once it builds up steam, but for him to build up steam you need to protect your little sanguine scavenger. Either through utilizing the ruleset to your advantage (like how I did here) , or with the proper spacers that will take hits from opportunity etc. If you like strategy talks, doodles, stories, tournaments, and other random things. Thanks for the delegation! Do you need anything from me to put it through? I don't think I received it. I'm digging the sparkle skin on the ant art at the bottom of the post. @squishna
You are delegated it, however since Grumpy dwarf is a spellbook card you will have to use the filter in your collection to "cards delegated to me" or something like that to see it. Otherwise it is hidden. Either that or click on grumpy dwarf in you collection
Found him. Thanks!
Antminer is one of my favorite cards
