Card First Impressions

The card Dark Ha'On Strikes me as more of a defensive tank instead of offensive tank. Not boasting very much attack for 10 mana it makes up for it in survivability (with flying at lvl 1 and scavenging at later levels). While 2 attack isn't going to do much mayhem in the front line usually, Dark Ha'On more often than not will survive more than 1 round of being battered by a mostly physical based lineup as opposed to a magical one. A good card to distract from your backline, or frontline. To center the enemies' attention elsewhere. This can make or break you lineup, sometimes focused attention on 1 unit is exactly what you DON'T want. However, unlike Magnor or the Kraken Dark Ha'On boasts only a meagre 2 attack power. Overall a good defensive tank, but it won't be punching any holes in the frontline anytime soon.
Placement And Strategy
Typically I place Dark Ha'On towards the front so he can absorb (or dodge) the most attacks. Or sometimes as a twist I will throw him somewhere backwards to allow a brutal glass cannon in my 1rst position to destroy the frontline one by one. It really all depends on the ruleset. In the battle located here. The equalizer ruleset worked in my favor for this match. Dark ha on vastly improving the hp of numerous cards on my side. Additionally blast being in effect actually lets a 1rst position damage attractor only damage 1 secondary target. Instead of 2 secondary targets as is the case with the enemy kraken.
Over the course of a mere round the kraken is left destroyed and dark ha'on is still standing at 8hp. A large portion of the enhanced survivability coming from Mimosa Nightshade's defensive abilities. A good counter to magical blasts or reflect.
Due to in effect having the bigger damage sponge it took for time for the frontline to giveaway. Ancient lich also having life sap lead to a rather hp heavy lich obtaining hp from multiple targets. The enemy frontline quickly melts away after spellstorm delivers a decisive final blow to the kraken.
Dark Ha'On eventually dies in round 3 as the first casualty, meanwhile the enemy lineup has become significantly reduced without their sustained damage absorption offered by the kraken.
Blast damage then pummels the enemy as they crumble to greater numbers, blast working in my favor. The dominos fall quickly and by round 5 the enemy lineup is eradicated and Dark Ha'On is the only creature to valiantly sacrifice itself when the dust is settled. Mimosa additionally helping by removing the backline water elemental's ability to heal, this could've been a bit of a headache to deal with considering the 14 maximum hp would have greatly improved the damage healed.
Conclusion and Talking Tidbits
In conclusion I would say Dark Ha'On is a very utile card. Able to channel damage into one location (for better or worse). If Dark Ha' On is predicted it can lead to a ghastly outcome. Tread with care, snare can be your ruin. Dark Ha'On is a good card, but when countered can be an easy defeat. Your backline wont have time to respond before damage resumes its natural course. This usually leads to a domino effect of fallen creatures as seen in the battle above aswell. An excellent card, even though it wont be trampling creatures to death like Magnor, or becoming an enraged team devourer like the kraken. It will be offering greater long term sustainability with scavenge, and is a bit harder to hit (Except against snare!).
Giveaway Winners and Wax Ha'On Wax Off Giveaway
About 2 weeks ago I announced 2 giveaways, in one post I saw 2 new players pooling together their comments to earn 1 Beatrix Ironhand delegation for 15 days ( @kyuki and @jakkal ). As this moved me and I pride myself in my unpredictable card choices, on and off the Mount Mox summit. In a complete turn of events EVERY commenter on this OTHER post from 2 weeks ago will receive a charlok minotaur for 15 days. Plus one lucky person who liked and commented also got an undead minotaur (@ehlz).
Madness! Just another reason to follow me, you never know what the heck I'll do. I just assure you it'll be something new. But don't forget, as promised a random commenter in the post that caused all this ruckus was to be delegated a Beatrix Ironhand for 15 days. Due to the fact that the random generator so happened to choose @kyuki out of all the commenters goes to show you that maybe you didn't need to pool after all eh? Because this lucky duck certainly didn't need one.
I'm oh so tardy in giving out the goodies, but I brought a little something extra this time to make up for it. This post is offering a secret giveaway, that's right, delegation of 1 random card bronze staple card for a week. The first person to tell me how to identify a human Ha'On in a comment will receive this special prize (don't forget to like the post too to be eligible). Likely encountered by many of you, for better or worse. But aside from that I will also be delegating one randomly selected person who likes AND comments on this post 1 Dark Ferryman for 15 days. He's not a super secret staple card, but he's a great blocker at 3 cost for the backline in these sneak-heavy times.
Giveaway Madness!
@fjasilum @ehlz @squishna @koition @kursen @kursen @saachi @lockiit @megawolf @leonardohwang @pwnappletea @erhean @newzombie @koipond @reeenso Welcome one and All to the Charlok Minotaur Giveaway madness. All of you have been delegated a charlok minotaur for 15 days. No strings attached. Why you ask? Why not would be a more apropriate question, but in all honesty I was moved by 2 new players trying to score a card delegation to get by. And by dumb luck they got it. Cheers! If this post is a welcome surprise, perhps you should follow me. Startled isn't a good look on you beautiful people.
Keep Summoning and See you in the #Splinterlands

Man, I would love to have the Dark Ferryman for the next season. I don't have good death splinter cards. I only use it on low mana battles. I'm a newbie btw. :)

Hehe, welcome to the giveaway for the ferryman. This answer while quite humerous is not in fact the answer I seek
Welcome to the giveaway goodluck!
You can identify a Ha'on by their single-colored eyes, of course.
Congragulations you have answered correctly and will be delegated a hero from beyond for 7 days. Surprise your opponents with this out of the box life splinter pick
HAHA @kyuki you lucky son of a gun! :P
Love the giveaways.
I went and found a human Haon
He's uh... not as menacing?
See, this is just Haon. This is before he turns down a uh... Dark path of being a Splinterlands monster.

haon is Irish language for one. It could be any one!
This is a rather interesting answer, and likely a reason for its actual name in game creatively. For this interesting factoid you are getting a random popup prize just to embody the chaos that is the upcoming chaos legion expansion. This prize is 1 efreet elder for 15 days. As one of the few magic monsters for the fire splinter mix it up with an excellent magic monster. And thanks for participating.
