Why I stopped Playing Splinterlands
Greetings folks, and welcome. It has been QUITE some time since I've talked about Splinterlands (or really looked it's way as far as active play is concern either), but today I'm here to tell you why I left and what's keeping me here/bringing me back to give it a look all this time later.
Lack of Competitive Modes/Collections
Since the ranked overhaul it was essentially a p2w fest of "Slam your leveled cards into noobs who didn't buy hundreds of copies to fuse together to win, not just earn more or play higher earning brackets etc. etc." Compositions and collection didn't really matter and many people who had spent months or years developing their collections for their ranks with cards at specific levels just to give them an advantage etc. were left high and dry.
Paying to play with cards I paid for
Having to pay to just que into matches playing with the maximum number of possibilities and using all the cards I paid for is something I just won't do on principles sake, and is a reason I have a limited mindset when it comes to SPL in it's current form. You have to pay 2 bucks every season just to play, and any cards you get will eventually only be usable in this mode. Not for me
Why I'm "Revisiting": Survival and More!
So to start off I've never FULLY left. I harvest land. I still brawl to keep in shape and see the occasional new lineup and ability to not be totally out of touch. Base level cards are so cheap now scooping a playset for pennies might be something I do to improve my brawling (I also might be starting my own guild soon here, stay tuned.). The thing that's bringing me back to thinking about Splinterlands is this new mode, I can use my cards to play without having to pay for it!
Seems like a blast I look forward to giving it a look and the unique layers of strategy that come with this "hardcore mode". Cheers everyone, thanks for reading. You all are awesome and thank you for the continued support. Rock on and I'll see you all out there.
Congratulations @cryptoniusrex! You received a personal badge!
