The Big Picture
Bitcoin dipped pretty hard in the past 24 hours and HIVE is suffering along with the rest of the market. Hive is suffering as a result of this but DEC is holding strong at the 0.00056$ level. With SPS rewards about to come out this month and the massive decrease in DEC minting, I have good reason to believe that it will soon return to its intended peg even in this bear market. Once DEC becomes scarce it will be a race to the peg to BUY DEC and exchange it for packs from the store. Needless to say, this would also pump the value of CL cards and ALL other CL reward cards by a substantial amount.

SPS rewards to be released at 8/23! This brings huge news to the DEC markets, but the current price clearly reflects the uncertainty of the market on whether this change is enough to bolster the value of DEC and bring it back to the intended peg. The historic low of DEC is 0.00049, and that was a few years ago, which means we are currently hovering at one of the lowest points in DEC. After a monumental pump and subsequent crash due to the airdrop of SPS, DEC has found stability around this level and has not moved drastically on its own accord, apart from a few HIVE pumps. With this update announced to finally come live in the next 3 days do expect some extremely high volatility in the price of DEC, as people that don't read the news and play the game start to see it come into effect right in front of them.
Once again, an opportunity to gamble arises, and the two options are buying DEC now, anticipating a huge pump in the coming days, or selling ALL your DEC now, and anticipated a further DIP in the price of DEC, buying it back at a discount later. A lot of people might think that there is no way that DEC would go down because of this update, but let me remind you, no one knows what the market is going to do next.
Rental Updates
Splinterrents unexpectedly went down today, and just as it was announced I was out for a weekend activity. When I first looked at the rentals about an hour ago it was at 10K DEC only, but after updating thhe rental prices manually to the conservative option of peakmonsters, it shot up to 16000DEC in rental revenue pretty quickly.
In case you don't know, peakmonsters has released a new update that provides a subscription based service for premium features. These include :
- Advanced market & rental compare stats
- Options to set rental prices based on market metrics
- Allow changing price of rented out cards
- Up to +30 additional Collection Sets
- Premium collection filters (quite useful imo)
- View cards with lower market fee (cheaper cards)
- Extremely high sale bids quota
- Notifications (date tbd)
Do check them out if you haven't already as it is an amazing site to use to manage your rentals manually and can do a wide range of operations ranging from combining multiple cards to specific levels and opening huge amounts of packs simultaneously. A thing to note however, is if you run out of RC from using peakmonsters splinterlands wont automatically delegate some more RC to you, and you'd have to go back to the splinterlands website, perform an action that requires blockchain interaction, and get more RC delegated to you.
Hopefully, splinterrents will come back online soon as I am only changing the price of unrented cards, meaning to say I am not actively cancelling rentals that could earn me a higher amount of DEC.
that being said, the fourth to eighth day of a season is arguably the worst section of a season for rentals, and to get 76.81% even at this time is pretty awesome. With any luck, the SPS rewards that are going to be integrated into the game would boost the rewards of my rentees and the rental prices will reflect that elevated rewards for players. I also hope splinterrents would be back up and running ready to catch the wave of rising revenue, both for me and them.
What I'm doing now
I found some CL rewards selling under my target price and promptly scooped them up. This included about 100 BCX of Naga Assassins and some other rares. The CL reward commons are at the moment too expensive for my liking and I'm staying far away from them. Although, there are some really good cards in there with great potential, and even have better stats then their older card counterparts. Ill leave it to you to find out which ones I'm talking about. Tomorrow I will talk about the Naga Assassin and how much I use it even at level 1. That's it for today and hope you have a great weakened, PEACE ;)
