Splinterlands Weekly Challenge - Battle with blast monster

in Splinterlands5 years ago

Hi Everyone,

This is my second blog on Splinterlands and I am happy to see the response on my first blog I posted couple of days ago and inspired to make this even more interesting.

I joined Splinterlands last week and got an opportunity to interact with @clove71 in Splinterlands Discord Channel and she was like immediately she checked my account and confirmed that she will delegate some cards and made my Water Splinter more healthy by delegating some alpha beta and I think even Untamed cards.

Thank you @clove71 for the encouragement to new players.

Now, coming back to the Splinterlands Weekly Challenge, it's about winning a battle with any blast monsters used.

Blast is an ability to attack a monster and explode onto the next one at half the melee attack of the first one as if attacking 2 monsters at a time.

Line up and why I put each card in the positions I used:

Molten Ogre:

I used this to reduce the melee attack of the other side monsters as this has a demoralize ability.

Magma Troll:

Used this since it has reach ability although I wasn't having any other melee attack monsters who have reach ability.

Serpentine Soldier:

Used this to attack monsters with lower health since this monster has opportunity ability to attack from any position.

Fire Elemental:

This was used as a blast monster as per the requirement of this weekly challenge.

It is a nice monster with nice speed and has 2 ranged attack.

Mantoid:

Used this for it's 2 attack and for attacking second line monster because it has snipe ability.

Furious Chicken:

Lastly, I used Furious Chicken for just ensuring that my other monsters doesn't get expose to any sneak monsters so early.

Battle:

As this was a battle with 30 mana and it involved Standard rule, meaning no changes to standard gameplay rules.

The battle begun with Fire Elemental attacking the Cerberus monster used on the other side and opportunity monster Serpentine Spy attacking and removing Elven Cutthroat.

In round 2, Cerberus and Fire Beetle were removed with 2 more monsters to be removed in Kobold Miner and Cyclops.

Round 3 begun with Fire Elemental again attacking first and removing Kobold miner and Cyclops couldn't attack as it is a ranged attack monster.

Cyclops was easily removed by the monsters I used and it gave a win for me.

Fire Elemental was instrumental in this win because of it's speed besides it's 2 ranged attack which always attacked first and reduced the health of monsters.

So, that was my first Weekly Challenge battle and here are couple of other questions to be answered.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

I think it was a good one. Usage of Fire Elemental and Serpentine Spy was good enough to get a win.

Do you use BLAST often? Why or why not?

I do not use the lone blast monster I have in Fire Elemental very much, but after seeing this challenge, I am excited to start using the blast monsters often.

Well, thank you again all the Splinterlands battlers and others who have supported my first blog and I look forward to your support again.
