This season has brought some interesting changes. These changes aim to bring more balance to the two game modes. Despite there being several ways to achieve this balance, the chosen method has been to buy a pass to the Wild League. For this reason, we are going to analyze the feelings or experiences I have had after the changes, as well as the strategies and objectives of the season.
Differences in game modes after the latest changes.
No season is the same as another, as sometimes there are different complications, but in the Wild mode in the Diamond League, a reduction in battles has been observed, which is normal, as it is likely that with the new requirements, there are not as many active bots and also some users migrated to the modern mode. But what is interesting is that the difficulty in battles has slightly increased. Perhaps this is because there are not as many bots with low-level decks.
On the other hand, in the modern mode, I have felt the same as last season, as the difficulty has been similar. Honestly, this mode has been the most challenging for me, as climbing up is a complex task. Still, I am trying to develop better strategies to improve my performance; currently, I am in silver in this mode. However, we have to wait for the season to end to have a better analysis and conclusion of the results left by the recent changes in Splinterlands.
How changes can affect climbing mode.
In the Wild mode, there are more options when forming a team; therefore, there are not many problems in this mode since different strategies can be implemented in battles. But in the modern mode, it is more complicated because you have to adapt to using cards from the latest edition; despite that, there are very good cards.
Some may feel uncomfortable with this reduction of cards, but recent changes have mobilized more players to enter this game mode; therefore, there may be a more balanced competition in the leagues. Hence, players who were already in modern mode should take advantage of their position.
So far, progress has been positive for me; now it is necessary to measure the level of play of opponents who are climbing since the quality of strategies and card level is important. It is also quite interesting to see that some have chosen to play this modern mode instead of paying for the pass for Wild mode; this may be due to low earnings or players who do not want to invest more than planned.
Strategies and objectives.
A few weeks ago, I explained how using certain cards allows us to gain benefits, but I believe that the key is using cards with skills and levels. This way, it will be possible to gain advantages over your opponent. In the following Link, you can see some key cards and skills that I frequently use in my strategies.
In recent seasons, performance in the Wild League has been very good since I have remained in high leagues, mainly in the Diamond League and approaching the Champions League; so that's the goal: trying to climb and maintain a good pace along with a good percentage of victories per battle. Finally, in the modern format, climbing has been challenging for me; still, I am fighting to stay in silver league and climb to gold. The goal is to maximize victory percentage, climb up and earn more SPS.
