The versatility of the death element cards.

in Splinterlands5 days ago

In the last few weeks my performance has not been the desired one, since in the first days I climbed a lot of points in the rating, but then I got a streak of defeats that lowered my percentage of rewards, that made me sink 200 or 300 points in the rating. That's why I think this week is not worth creating a post about the cards of the week.

Maybe my downturn is due to the lack of concentration due to the Christmas season, even so there are several elements that can be highlighted from this season, either some battles or usual strategies to seek the promotion. It should be noted that this last year has been full of changes in Splinterlands, therefore, we have been in constant adaptation, in addition to new cards get new cards.

The importance of the cards of the death element.

This time we will talk about the cards of the death element, since lately it has become one of my favorite elements, mainly because of the amount of useful cards, the combination of skills that we can perform and the versatility they have, because when we are limited by the use of direct attack cards, ranged or magic, we will always find alternative cards to combine. So let's analyze my usual cards and possible alternatives to make use of the cards of this element.

Battle 1.

I usually use Cursed Windeku, because this direct attack card has the Thorns ability and can heal its own life, so it is a lethal card, because it can wear away in two ways to the opponent and also protects itself by regenerating its life, when this card is used properly can stay long in the battles and most of the time is a key card to get a victory.

Previously I have shown Cursed Windeku together with Revealer, this magic card can make an opponent's card can not attack, because it has the ability Stun, therefore, it is a very important card when combined with Cursed Windeku.

  • But this time we will observe a different battle with Cursed Windeku starting from the second position and without the healing ability, since the battle prevented the use of the ability.
  • While in the first position, I placed Halfling Refugee as a decoy. In the third position I used Arachne Weaver, this card could grant me the ability to increase life differently and to use magic attacks (also the healing ability was cancelled), finally Grifzi, this card has the ability to perform direct attack from any position.

The battle went normally, despite the limitation of life restoration, but the direct attacks and the use of the Thorns skill made it important to wear down the opponent, also the magical attacks of Arachne Weaver made it possible to destroy my opponent.

Battle 2.

In the second battle, the limitation was that I couldn't use direct attack cards, so I had to form a team only with magic cards, but not having so many resistant cards or with high life in the front zone, so I decided to use cards that don't have the ability to attack.

  • Cards like Will-o-Wisp and Riftwing can sometimes go unnoticed, but they can have a good role, the main abilities of these cards are Weaken, since it can reduce -1 life to the enemy, and Scavenger, this allows to increase the life for each destroyed card.

  • I also used Venari Bonesmith to try to advance to the first position, but waiting for him to perform several attacks in order to increase the life; the fourth card was Arachne Weaver, this would also contribute with attacks, but the use of their skills would be important for the team.

  • Finally, Revealer would be vital with the use of the Stun ability that prevents the attack of an opponent's card that has received damage, also preventing being affected, as it has the Immunity ability. Lastly, I used a strong card like Usut, one of his main strengths is the increase of his power with the use of Bloodlust.

In this battle everything happened as planned, except that Venari Bonesmith didn't stay so much in the front position, but finally Usut was a key card to get the victory. These were some of my usual combinations in my team, certainly the death element has a lot of useful cards that can be adapted to any circumstances.
