Season 2 Recap:
As covered in our previous full recap here! Season 2 was an outright massacre. We absolutely stomped the bot but will it be a one off? Me and the bot are 1-1 so far, though I think it’s fair to say I’ve been the more profitable still.
Objective:
Outperform a bot using an account with Gold power at the cheapest cost, rather than specific, usable cards.
Season 3 Begins:
Me and Bulldog haven’t really had a lot of time to speak between his Community Manager job at Splinterlands and my Influencer Manager job at EAK Digital, so I’m not entirely sure of any changes to my opponent this time. No new cards right now, but one expired rental.
My roster is as follows this season;
Level 1 Unless Specified!:
- Fire – Exploding Rats, Lava Launcher, Tusk the Wide, Scorch Fiend, Tarsa (Lv3) and The Forgotten One
- Water – Wave Brood, Djinn Oshannus, Torrent Fiend, Kelya (Lv4), Deeplurker (Lv4), Pelacor Bandit (Lv5), Angelic Mandarin (Lv4), Diemonshark (Lv4) and River Hellondale (Lv2)
- Earth – Venari Seedsmith, Djinn Biljka and Fungus Fiend
- Life – Djinn Renova and Soul Fiend
- Death – Harklaw, Corpse Fiend and Magi Necrosi
- Dragon – Twilight Basilisk and Djinn Chwala
- Neutral – Creeping Ooze, Gargoya Lion, Gargoya Devil, Uraeus (Lv2), Sand Worm and Spirit Hoarder
My Antoid Platoon Level 3 rental has sadly expired, I love that card :(
Silver 3 (Day 1):
Very excited going into the new season. We start very strong on the back of a 5 win streak and are already right in Silver 2 within 15 minutes. Wrapped up my daily quest and had to come off today as time is very limited.
Silver 2 (Day 2):
Today was a bit all over the place. I delegated my own Antoid Platoon Level 3, as my rental has expired and Bulldog hasn’t been around to sort it out for me, pretty sure he’s on vacation. I’ve dropped 3 battles he’d have won me and it was frustrating. That said, the rule sets/mana/splinter combinations have been truly awful today. Things like Earth and Death but all magic or melee banned and 12 mana to play with. Melee only and gives us nothing but Life and 13 mana. 58 mana Little League but only Dragon and Life to play. It’s been that sort of misery and I’ve been exchanging wins and losses back and forth all day.
I end up tapping out today with a losing record. The game has griefed me all session with such awful combos, that only seem to focus on Splinters we haven’t got any cards for either.
I pop back on during the night and things get a bit more favourable. Definitely clashing with some big whale players here but successfully blast my way into Silver 1, grabbing more wins to solidify my spot and wrap up for the night.
Silver 1 (Day 3):
I’m again a bit busy today but want to get my capture rate down to at least 85-90% and knock out my daily quest. Quest goes nice and easy as it’s Water and this Water deck is seriously fun. Rewards were trash, 2 DEC and some potions lol.
Silver 1 (Day 4):
Right, my son has gone to bed at a normal time and my schedule is a bit more open so lets go for Gold! Things start very badly, the game bans Fire 27 battles in a row! Yikes… So I’m relying a lot of Water, because lets face it, it’s kind of all I have. Sadly Water is banned 21 of those battles too so this was a real shaky back and forth time. I won some major surprises but also dropped some winnable fights.
My Snipe quest is proving very challenging without my strongest two decks to carry the victory, while just slipping a Snipe card in the back somewhere. Several times I come within 30-60 points of Gold before falling back down. I feel I’m starting to play reckless, forcing this quest out as I’d like to sleep soon.
Finally I quest ends.. and I get 20 DEC, a Pelacor Deceiver, Venari Heatsmith and a potion.. well worth the headache. I swear difficult sessions like that really hurt when you don’t at least pull a rare haha.
I decide to call it a night after burning close to 30% capture rate up. I’ve not made any real progress in what feels like a 50/50 session, maybe worse. I’m pretty much where I started in the middle of Silver 1. It’s definitely harder to get to Gold this season, mostly because the rules are banning my only viable decks endlessly.
Silver 1 (Day 5):
I’m not around during the day but get on for a while at night, lets get to Gold! I feel like I’ve been knocking on Gold’s door but nobody is answering recently, I’m sure we can push it tonight. I draw quite a few favourable rules that align with the limited card roster we have, also manage to outsmart a few players to build up a nice streak! The Daily Quest was again full of trash, a whole 2 DEC in one chest lol. That’s nice in lower leagues but here I’m hearing 10+ a win. A great 14-3 session smashes us into Gold 3, so time I get some sleep before work.
Gold 3 (Day 6):
Very excited to return to streaming today. We covered both my own account and this project one live, some tournament play too, so be sure to come join in with everyone else and laugh at my misplays when distracted.
It’s another really good session of lots of wins, but the Daily Quest does take us a while to get done due to being Snipe. So I was needing big mana battles to slip a Snipe card into my Water deck to be carried. Rewards were worth the grind though with a few rares including a Gold Foil Venari Wavesmith!
Gold 3 (Day 7):
Pure hell is how I’ll describe this post-work session. I go 2-8 in my first 10. Such an easy quest of Fire today and only won once due seemingly every match being against maxed out Gold decks and we barely have a Bronze level Fire deck haha. After a brief break from constant premium max level, gold foil kraken opponents, we get 6-4 run with a nice 4 streak to help me squeak through this Daily Quest. Very tough session with me using Level 1 novice cards versus some Lv6 summoner decks with maxed Gold cards. Matchmaking really wanted to make an example of the Influencer today haha.
Gold 3 (Day 8 ):
Today was heavily taxed for time but I knocked out the Daily Quest with a 5-4 record, few real close wins and losses in there that could’ve gone either way. A nice Gold Pelacor Conjurer in my rewards too, so I’m pretty happy with the mid-season result so far.
Mid Season Review:
Things have been pretty comfortable. We’re bringing in deck, cleared all dailies, got some new Gold foils in rewards too. I’m looking forward to Bulldog’s return to see what’s going on with the bot and what our next plans are. I’d love a Scholar opponent if this bot is being destroyed again.

Good job!
