Battle Mage Secrets: Armored Up
Armored up is a ruleset that all monster will have 2 additional shield in their normal stats. With this ability we need first to analyze what summoners is the best for this ruleset.
Top Summoners for Armored Up Ruleset: Modern Format
- Obsidian: This summoner is best if you want to go with the pure magic line up so the armor of opponent is useless since magic will attack directly the health
- Grandmaster Rathe: If you think your opponent will use magic. This summoner will good to counter magic cards since it have Void Armor ability which magic hit the armor first before it's health.
- Conqueror Jacek: This summoner will be good counter for both magic or anti magic summoner. Placing monster with Void or Void Armor as your tank for anti magic and add monster that gives 4 to 7 damage. Conqueror Jacek have the Piercing Ability that excess the remaining damage to the target's health so it will best to put cards with a lot of damage.
- Astral Entity: With this summoner the additional armor will be useless because this summoner have the the -2 armor in your all enemy monster.
Battle Ruleset

---|---|
Armored Up: All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat | |
Noxious Fumes: All Monsters start the battle Poisoned | |
Up to Eleven: All Monsters have the Amplify ability |
Mana Cap: 34
Active Splinter: Fire, Life and Dragon
Battle Analysis
In this ruleset I didn't use Grandmaster Rathe because of the Poison rule and if I will go in Grandmaster Rathe it will consume a lot of mana so it will be hard to choose which cards to use as a tank. I think that my opponent will use life splinter since this splinter have Uriel the Purifier which is good in Poison Rule.
My Team
Summoner
Lorna Shine: All friendly monsters receive the divine shield ability at the start of the battle. Divine shield ability: The first time the Monster takes damage it is ignored
Monsters
Almo Cambio: As my prediction that my opponent will use Uriel the Purifier, Almo Cambio is a good tank. This card is immune in poison and have the phase ability plus six speed that makes my opponent misses a lot of attacks.
Djinn Renova: One of the best supporter as this card heal all the back-line monster and can deal 4 magic damage
Truthspeaker: With the armored up ruleset it is best to put monster that also provide armor incase your opponent will use monster with the Rust ability. Cleanse and healing for sustaining the health of first position monster.
Adelade Brightwing: Additional monster for sustaining my first position since it can restored some armor that has taken the most damage. This card is also immune in poison rule and can resurrect the first monster that will die in my cards.
Grenadier: I put grenadier incase my opponent will also use Almo Cambio as a tank. Grenadier does double damage to the monster that has no attacks.
Doctor Blight: With the armored up and poison ruleset, I choose Doctor Blight because it have the affliction ability that has a chance to make your opponent card unable to healed and it also reduce 1 health of all the opponent cards.
Round 1
- My prediction is right that my opponent will use life but my tank prediction is wrong. My opponent use Celestial Harpy for the first position but I think it just misplace.
- Almo Cambio as a frontliner, my opponent cards are slowly killing themselves with return fire and magic reflect
- Celestial Harpy die in this round which my opponent resurrect already activate
Round 2 to Round 3
Round 2 | Round 3 |
---|---|
- In Round 2 Celestial Harpy is down while my Grenadier lose 2 health because of the poison
- As the Round 3 start with poison my Grenadier died and that's when Adelade Brightwing resurrect activate
- Supply Runner kill itself with return fire
Round 4
- Venari Crystalsmith and Djinn Renova die because of the poison rule
- Opponent Adelade Brightwing is the remaining cards and all my cards is still alive
- Choosing a strong backline and front healer to sustain my Almo Cambio is the key that I win this battle

Cool post and nice strategy, another great technique is a Sustain team using Lily, Almo in the front and all Life Sustain.
Agree, Lily is good too because of triage
That high-level Almo is a beast, wow. I should try using that too.
