Splinterlands Diary 20.03.24 - Shades Of Gray

in Splinterlands8 months ago

Greetings, brave warriors of Splinterlands! My favorite game continues to enjoy changes and after yesterday's update there are now battles with the new Shades Of Gray rule that allows you to use ONLY NEUTRAL cards in a fight.

This severe restriction makes for some very sophisticated strategic decisions, and in the first skirmishes where I encountered it, my opponents used the mighty Tatiana Blayde, a card that is virtually invincible thanks to its double damage from a combination of ranged and melee attacks, backed up by Bloodlust.

But then other rule combinations came along and I have to say I really liked it. Gives you a new way to look at your deck and approach card selection for combat.

For example, in this battle I relied on Arkemis the Bear to increase defend and restore shields with Scavo Hireling, as well as strengthening my melee attacks with Tarsa summoner, while my opponent, with an impressive amount of cards in Golden Foil, chose Sneak-cards as his main attackers.

During the first few turns my strategy didn't seem to work out so well, but then after getting rid of the enemy tank I gained a significant advantage and won the game, not the least of which was the Moxian Rebel mage.

I'm sure it will be even more interesting next, so I wish you successful combos and see you on the battlefield!
