This week's battle challenge NFT belongs to the Earth Splinter. The Mycelia Slipspawn is a ranged magic monster with taunt. With ranged magic and taunt, you would believe you would be able to use this card in alot of situations. But this is not the case. Splinterlands is always about matchups and playing counters to your enemy. Let's take a look at the stats.
MYCELIA SLIPSPAWN STATS
The Mycelia Slipspawn seems like the go to Earth Splinter for most matchups. Because it comes with taunt and a ranged magic attack, but at a high mana cost. In bronze and you will not see much use for this card due to the number of low mana battles. Silver is where the use of this card picks up the pace because of the increased mana battles.
How I use Mycelia Slipspawn
In bronze I only use this card in high mana battles as an off tank. This is so my main front line card is not taking all the damage. Pair this card with Obsidian summoner and you will not be disappointed.
In silver I use this card the same way. But way more because of the increase of higher mana battles in silver.
My Mycelia Slipspawn Featured Battle
In this featured battle we have Earth vs. Water. The ruleset for this battle was no healing. As you can see from this battle I used Mycelia Slipspawn exactly how I described. Check the link below to see if I won or lost.

Summary Of My Thoughts
I find this card very useful in high level mana battles. I find the taunt, health, damage make this a very viable card to own. I love playing this card. My conclusion is this card is definitely worth it to own. And for a little investment I hope it will make you happy too!
