BATTLE LINK -- January 10, 2025 -- Day 10 of 365 vs. @marfeb0627
Splinterlands asks, "Do you have tips for climbing the ranks?" in its community engagement challenge. We do that every day over here. Typically ranked or tournament battle from across the spectrum of formats and leagues with a different card featured daily for its standout performance based on the battle rulesets and opposing strategies.
Today's 47-mana battle comes from the trenches of Modern Champion 3 and had only one ruleset: Lost Legendaries. Only two elements were excluded: Fire and Dragon, so Rebellion's two best summoners -- Eternal Tofu and Cryptic -- were available to lead both of their elements to battle. I chose to line up with Tofu and my opponent had Cryptic in this exciting strategy with new Rebellion cards.
The featured card of the battle is the new Rebellion promo rare, Meriput Mossmender, with its new echo ability which doubles its support ability triggers that it gains at max level. I had the intention to give it triage with Tofu and it comes with repair and cleanse, so that's five triggers to help heal my team. I put Splispawn at the back to take advantage of the triage from Mossmender and Uloth Dhampir.
My flank attack up front had the new Rebellion voucher promo Mana Warden providing its Shield Ward ability to Silverblade Fighter. The unassuming rare that gives reach to the melee monster behind it, was able to hold up at the front of my lineup to secure the victory with the help of Mossmender.
Mossmender repaired Fighter for four armor each round and wiped out the poison from Cryptic's tactic before it could inflict damage. Despite Slipspawn going down after just two rounds at the back, Mossmender showed how his new echo ability can be a game changer.
Of course, it never hurts to have a Tofu lineup that can also take advantage of an epic threat like Olivia to bring the win home. But this battle was all about the combo of these three new Rebellion cards at the front of my lineup that gave Olivia the time she needed to take over the battle. I hope this gives my Splinterland followers some ideas on how to take advantage of this max promo powerhouse with its Echo ability -- Meriput Mossmender.
