Thanks for taking the time to write about land, even though it seems like the forgotten part of the Splinterverse currently. I've never been that enthused about land. I hold the minimum 5 plots necessary to capture an rShare bonus of 5% for my battle rewards, but that's about it.
On my main account, I also have 5 RUNI helping me work the land for a 100% production bonus and a 15% rShare bonus for being in the runeguard. All these grain and research totals mean fuck all to me. There are just silly numbers go up while meaning very little while land development has been put on the back burner.
Is it even worth it to stake all that DEC to get my workers going? Who knows, I haven't really felt bothered to put in the time to run the numbers. I just took some of the extra Gold Foil maxed common reward cards I had and threw them only plots that gave me those 10% production bonuses by element.
I like your strategy of buying the older cards for the production bonus without having to tie up as much additional DEC to have them work the plots. Just like Yabapmatt intended. I like the function of land working as a sync for extra cards that are not needed for ranked battles. Each new sets brings on additional card inflation, which can be sent to land to manage the extras.
I wish I had such an easy onramp to accumulate more $HIVE, but access here in the US is quite limited, so I will continue to resort to my writing, commenting, and curating rewards to grow my Hive stake. I've rambled long enough, but thanks again for sharing Splinterlands content to your feed, especially about the seemingly forgotten resource of land use. Good luck to you on your new plots.
I'll be funneling my new funds into all these powerful new Rebellion promo cards, where my payments are sent to the decentralized @sps.dao account that is governed by us gameplayers and SPS stakeholders. I love that this new round of promo sales has already been paid in full by the SPSDAO to the Splinterlands team, and all sales of said promos go right back into the SPSDAO coffers. Although with lower valuations than I would like, I finally think the tokenomics of the Splinterlands ecosystem are in a much more healthy and positive place than I've seen in years.
The strategy and gameplay have improved considerably over the 2.5 years I've been playing daily. I'm incredibly hopeful for the continued success of the game going forward, despite the selloffs and missteps of the past. While there will always be shining new things popping up all over the Web3 landscape, Splinterlands (and Hive) is my home and I'm not going anywhere!
Long Live the Age of the Battlemage!
Can you not use the buy option from the peakd.com wallet? What options do you have when you do this? I used to buy HIVE via Binance, but bypass it now.
Nope, these options are not allowed in The Empire State... infringes on New York's vice grip on banking. I have other options in Arizona, but BinanceUS is currently shut off from taking fiat deposits. It takes forever to go through Coinbase or Gemini. But any CC service for Hive is dead to me. I am resigned to sending things to Binance to Pancakeswap Dex
simple-swap has worked well for me, try a small amount first.
