I grew up on TCGs like Pokemon and YuGiOh transitioning to MTG as I got older. Now that I have a family and work obligations those are games that I do not have time to play.
The beauty of splinterlands is that you can play 2 minutes here and 2 minutes there. I can play it on the train, while I am making coffee or even when I am on the john. Even when I am slammed at work finding 2 minutes to do a battle is stress relief more than an additional obligation.
I think that using time restrictions as an excuse to use a bot are just that, an excuse. People use bots because they think they can do better than they can themselves. It seems most of the top content creators now talking about bowing out of ranked and only utilising their bot to do it for them. I heard on the peoples guild podcast that whenever they turn off their bot they just lose over and over so just keep the bot on for ranked and just play tournaments.
I personally love then game and will continue to grind through ranked for that pure love of the game.
I will not however invest anymore money into the game which is so so hard as I so want to FOMO hard into these prices.
The influencers just make it seem like if you don't have a bot you don't have a chance so the message is why bother at all. At least that's how I perceive it
If people/influencers put the earning at their 1st priority instead of play, they will use bot.
But I like playing the game by myself. It's time to relax and train my brain. I feel happy when winning the game with the limited powerful cards.
Let put the earning after the enjoyment while playing Splinterlands, we will feel so much better :)

Another aspect of using the bots is learning how they play and knowing their flaws. But you hit the nail on the head. I am aiming for profit since that has the driving for of Splinterlands. They want to make an entertaining game that creates value. !PIZZA
Ever since splinterlands took on the approach that the game requires people to spend in order to get a full experience has turn the game more of a chore than entertainment. I am able to still put in 2 min a day here and there but unable to keep up with the game. There are a lot of days my Energy is at 100%. Then there are the updates in the weekly town halls and third party sites. The game itself in order to turn a profit now really takes a lot of time and effort. Bottom line I have to decide how to spend my limited time to profit the most in the game. Right now me playing the game daily isn’t as profitable as other aspects of the game such as partaking in liquidity pools or posting daily of what I find interesting related to the game. Its how I distribute my time between all the things we can do in and out of Splinterlands. !PIZZA
