Maybe I am missing something but I can only see 1 case where it makes sense to buy packs.
It is for whales who want all the legendary cards and resell packs in a few years like vintage items xD
Otherwise it will probably cheaper to buy cards one by one and if it not, it will still be possible to buy packs directly ...
