Hello to all my fellow splinterpeeps and welcome to my blog! Today it's time again for the weekly splinterlands challenge, hosted by the awesome splinterlands curator team. No matter if you are an artist, social media influencer or just enjoy playing the game, they host all kinds of challenges here on hive, which give you a chance to get a valuable upvote from the community. Giveaway Winner
- of a Naga Assassin & SPS Giveaway

Two weeks ago I started a giveaway for a Naga Assassin Card in one of my videos. The winner was drawn today with the hive random winner picker. Congrats @amaillo, the card has been sent to your @amaillo-m account already!

Unfortunately some of the participants did not answer my question from the video. Personally I wouldn't mind too much and luckily none of those were picked this time, but for fairness reasons I will not consider entries that don't follow the instructions in the future. Otherwise it would be unfair to those who play fair.

I finally reached a total of 3k SPS staked, so it's time for some celebratory giveaway.

For this season I'll be giving away a total of up to 5 SPS to a random person that comments on this post. No other requirements but I will grant bonus tickets for reblogs and to followers.

For each valid entry (bots and spam are excluded) I will add 0.5 SPS to the price pool, capped at 5 SPS.

Good luck!

In this weekly challenge we have to make use of the new Radiated Brute card from the latest Chaos Legion booster series. Usually I don't use this card a lot, but during my latest brawl matches I faced a reverse speed match, which is a good time for the fire splinter.

Stats
on the Radiated Brute

Let's have a closer look at the...thing.
I never realized how much this appears to be a female character!

To be fair the only downside to this card, and probably the main reason I rarely use it, is the low speed at level 1. The reach ability and two attack damage synergize very well with Tarsa.
Enrage seems kinda useless on this card, because reach tanks are not getting hit by anything until the frontline goes down.

Ruleset
to be obeyed

In this game we were limited to fire and water with the possibility of adding some dragons. 21 mana, no healing and reverse speed makes fire more favorable over the fast and generally more expensive water monsters.

The Lineup
to beat them all

Living Lava is pretty much the meta tank in the fire splinter and has been for quite a while now. It is vulnerable to magic damage, but most of the alternative fire tanks do not have an edge on it. The risk of running into magic is rather low with Alric beeing quite rare and it's a golden card. Everyone loves shiny cards! Will go perfectly with the following cards.

Radiated Brute: Perfect secondary tank with the reach ability. The plan is to focus the enemy frontline with two high damage cards, instead of spreading the damage with sneak or opportunity.

Usually I neglect this card whenever I may face water or earth teams due to it's low speed and the resulting lack of accuracy. With the slow loris ruleset negating this disadvantage, this card actually becomes really strong!

The Fire Fiend is the only one fiend I own so far and I don't feel the necessity to buy the other ones as I also have quite a few Furious Chickens and it's impact in the lower leagues seems kinda neglibile.
This only applies as I snatched a couple Chickens when they were <0.5 $. With the current prices you might as well buy all the Fiends instead of a Chicken.

Orella Abadon is perfect for the low mana game, benefits from Tarsa and is slick golden. I always try to use a gladius card in brawls, because the bloodlust ability is ridiculously broken.

The Alchemist is such an amazing card. Only 2 mana and the debuff on melee is so disgusting with a shield or void tank in the front. Reverse speed even negates it's biggest weakness.

Just some shield against potential sneaks. Poor Monkey.

Battle
analysis and recap

Not sure what my opponent's plan was, apparently they went for an armor piercing oneshot attempt, which clearly failed.
Watch the battle here
Due to the Alchemist, they had no chance of dealing significant damage to my Living Lava and the Radiated Brute was able to deal out massive damage without getting hurt. The strategy worked quite well and we saw quite a few misses on the 1 speed monsters.
Maybe this is a card worth leveling up for the extra movement speed.
