On my opinion on using the cube card is best used in a rule set with Earthquake, Explosive Weaponry, Noxious Fumes. This help the cube accumulate more HP specially when you have a very good tank cube always save the day when it comes on getting the upper hand on rules. Not sure how it works with the gold ranks and above but cube is pretty useful on bronze to silver league.
Cube is also very cheap to rent. The higher the level of cubes goes it provide a better advantage specially those abilities it have make it a very formidable card. It may not be par with Kron or other OP cards but this is like the budget meal for beginners.
