A decade ago Valnamor proposed to Mimosa Nightshade. Evil tongues claimed that he was manipulated by her magic. Perhaps this saying had a grain of truth because before proposing Valnamor saw Mimosa only one time when he was visiting death lands as an ambassador of Water Spinter. Or perhaps he acted this way only because of his spontaneous and quick nature? Either way Mimosa was pleased by Valnamor offer but she said that before accepting she also has to get Death's Splinter's approval. Death Splinter hated Water Splinter because he beat him at chess long time ago. For that reason Death Splinter despised all Water Splinter minions as well. But he could never straight up refuse any favors for his favorite summoner Mimosa. So he came up with a plan. He agreed to bless the union of Valnamor and Mimosa...If Valnamor will beat her in the field of battle. A normal person would not thought about letting the lovers fight each other because they would fear that at least one of them will not fight seriously. But this thought never crossed Death Splinter's mind. During the years of service Mimosa had not betrayed his trust not once. So Valnamor and Mimosa met in the decisive battle. Valnamor summoned his troops: Frost Giant, Captain's Ghost, Phantom of the Abyss, Poseidon and Sea Monster. Mimosa had her most trusted units as well: Lord of Darkness, Corrupted Pegasus, Cthulhu, Ancient Lich and Phantom Soldier. Both teams fought bravely and fiercely. But in the end dust clouds cleared and Mimosa proved to be victorious. Valnamor failed to meet Death Splinter's condition for marrying Mimosa but Valnamor swore that next time he will win both the battle and Mimosa hand. For now he travels the oceans seeking even more powerful allies for his rematch.

Hi I have never played Splinterlands, well actually I haven't bought the starter pack either, I remember years ago it was 10 hbd. I don't know if the cost is still the same.
