Last few minutes of the season for Ranked Play at Splinterlands, and it is time for me to see what's my progress toward completing the Rebellion SB set.
Another slow season this time. Seems like they alternate.
I have two misses this season compared to the previous one, before even checking the rewards:
- haven't reached CL2, so I am missing the rewards for advancing to CL2 tier
- didn't have enough Glint to the end to buy all 10 legendary draws this season.
I was able to purchase 9 legendary draws this time around. With the remaining Glint, I purchased 3 epic draws, 5 rare draws and 4 common draw, depleting my Glint stash.
That makes it easy to see how much Glint I earned this season (including the season rewards from last season). That makes it a total of 341,850 Glint used for draw purchases this season. Last season I had a total of 352,700 Glint in purchases. That means I earned 10,850 less Glint this season.
Let's keep a table too, going forward:
Season since New SB Set | Glint Used to Purchase Draws | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 5 | 363,200 | |
Season 6 | 344,400 | -18,800 Glint |
Season 7 | 352,700 | +8,300 Glint |
Season 8 (current) | 341,850 | -10,850 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 346,316 |
Let's see what my current situation of the Rebellion SB set completion progress is so far:
Season since New SB Set | Commons % | Rares % | Epics % | Legendaries % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Season 1 | 1 / 0 | 2 / 0 | 8 / 0 | 9 / 0 |
Season 2 | 2 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 9 / 0 | 17 / 0 |
Season 3 | 3 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 10 / 0 | 23 / 0 |
Season 4 | 5 / 2 | 3 / 1 | 12 / 0 | 27 / 0 |
Season 5 | 7 / 2 | 4 / 2 | 13 / 0 | 36 / 0 |
Season 6 | 8 / 3 | 5 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 42 / 0 |
Season 7 | 9 / 3 | 6 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 51 / 0 |
Season 8 (current) | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 17 / 0 | 58 / 0 |
That's +7% to the progress of legendary cards, which is looking average, +2% progress to epic cards which is 2% more than last season's progress, but I don't worry about them, they are fewer and when I start focusing on them, progress will go up much faster than on any of the others. +1% to rare cards, and +1% to RF common cards is minimal, but I haven't focused on them yet.
My first objective is to max out my first legendary card, which will likely happen next season (I have one legendary SB reward card at 10/11 BCX and 2 cards at 9/11 BCX). After that, I'll switch focus, because I might receive a double, which means wasted Glint. That can be avoided when there are other options.
Here are the "before and after" snapshots. "Before" first:
7 at level 3, 4 at level 2 and 1 at level 1
And now the "after":
My Rebellion legendary SB reward cards: 7 at level 3, 4 at level 2 and 1 at level 1.
Basically, in terms of levels, there was no change, but the level 3 cards advanced to max level quite seriously, with 3 of them quite close to reaching it (5 BCX missing in total for the 3 cards which are the closest).
Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).
Here' s my situation:
8,790,000 Glint
Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
3,207,950 Glint
Progress percentage:
36.49%
Estimated^ time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
15 more seasons (7.5 months, i.e. beginning of July)
^) estimation now includes tier advancement rewards
Last season's Glint value of cards collected: 2,839,550.
Difference: 368,400 Glint-worth of cards this season, including tier advancement rewards.
Season since New SB Set | Glint-Worth of Cards (including Tier Advancement Rewards) | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 7 | 414,550 | - |
Season 8 (current) | 368,400 | -46,150 Glint |
Last 2 seasons' average | 391,475 |

You are more than a third of the way there! Not too bad... Even with a down season you're doing great! Question being how many more seasons will there be to collect the rewards cards? I hope you can max them all out!
The end will be complicated, when I can't avoid doubles anymore. Then the speed at which I move forward will be reduced, most likely.
That is always the problem I've run into as well. In the last set I wasn't able to max out all of the legendary and epic cards.
Yep, I didn't max 2 legendary cards from the last set. But then we had many more high-level GF to burn. At least I had.
Wastage of glint can be really bad, especially if it's for a legendary you already have surplus. Good progress so far. Your legendary collection is looking good, I think the ones that are looking "meh" are the legendaries with one health.
I already hit my first maxed legendary card from season rewards (Syrenth - dragon taunter with return fire and dodge, but very low speed), and I have now switched to epic ones. For now doubles can be avoided, but at the end there's no way to avoid them. I always liked very low mana cost cards. Maybe they don't seem good enough for legendary cards, but they have their use cases.
It sucks to hear that you didn't get to advance far enough and that the glint wasn't enough, but I think you still did great. Last season was rough and I was about to give up in Gold III, but I had some time on the last day in the morning and I got a 8 win streak to get up to Gold II.
Last few seasons alternated for me. One hot the next one cold, and so on. Since the one before this one which just finished was better, I kind of expected it last season to not be so great.
