A Little Slower Splinterlands Season

Last day of the season for Ranked Play at Splinterlands, and it is time for me to see what's my progress toward completing the Rebellion SB set.

I advanced to CL2 a little sooner than last season and stopped. Played 2 games in Modern and lost, one of them pretty close, but still a loss. I'll probably play a few more during this last day to see where my place in Modern would be at this time and as rusty as I am (often looking for Gladiator cards, by the way, since I play mostly in Brawls 😀).

My rewards for advancing tiers to CL3 and CL2 were pretty lame this season, the best rewards being 2 epic cards, both for advancing to CL3, not CL2...

I was 6k Glint short from purchasing all 10 legendary draws from batch 1 this time around, but I had to be satisfied with 9 of them. With the remaining Glint, I purchased 3 epic draws, 9 rare draws and 1 common draw, depleting my Glint stash.

That makes it easy to see how much Glint I earned this season (including the season rewards from last season). That makes it a total of 344,400 Glint used for draw purchases this season. Last season I had a total of 363,200 Glint in purchases. Which means I am 18,800 Glint short this season.

That's +6% to the progress of legendary cards. Back to an average speed of progress for legendaries. Only +2% to epic cards progress, but I don't worry about them, they are fewer and when I start focusing on them, progress will go up much faster than on any of the others. +1% to rare cards, and +1% to RF and GF common cards is ok. Progress on them will go much faster when I'll focus on them.

My first objective is to max out my first legendary card. After which, I'll switch focus, because I might receive a double, which means wasted Glint. That can be avoided when there are other options.

My Rebellion legendary SB reward cards: 4 at level 3, 6 at level 2 and 2 at level 1.

Basically, in terms of levels, two level 2 legendary cards have been upgraded to level 3.

Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).

Here' s my situation:

Glint needed for a fully upgraded regular Rebellion SB set, w/o doubles:
8,790,000 Glint

Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
2,425,000 Glint

Progress percentage:
27.59%

Estimated time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
18 more seasons (9 months)

A decent progress of a little above 4% this season. Not as good as last season, but the difference was made by both the Glint earned throughout the season and the rewards for advancing tiers.

There's nothing as painful as those near-losses. It tends to look like anyone would take the game, but then you just end up losing because your opponent was more lucky. A loss is a loss

I don't take it to heart as I used to. But yet again, I don't play as much as I used to, otherwise I might.

The good thing is that by buying those legendaries you continue to increase your power in the game.
