This week's Community Engagement Challenge involves showcasing your most epic battle for the current year as well as sharing your plans for the upcoming 2025. I will start with the battle. I won't share a particularly thrilling battle but a battle that features my favorite ruleset - Stampede and how I tackle it when it's in play.
Let us see what this ruleset does before we get into the nitty-gritty of the line-up and the battle itself. The Stampede ruleset is pretty straight-forward - The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed

Now that we've got a good idea of what Stampede ruleset practically does, let's see now how it can be effectively utilized.

So, tackling this ruleset correctly is not too hard - all you need to know is that you would want to include a Monster which has the Trample ability in your line-up (if possible). The first 2 rows on the screenshot above showcase the available Monsters with Trample in the current iteration of the Modern league. As you can see they are not very many but they are not that few either. I would say Venka balances things out as she's a Neutral Monster and can be use every time Neutrals are available, actually the Disintegrator serves the same purpose as well, however, Venka is definitely the more explosive one of the two. If you have no access to Monsters with Trample - do not frown - you can actually use two Summoners to enable other Melee Monsters become cool for a battle and get the Trample ability - these summoners are pictured on the 3rd row of the screenshot - Possibilus and Lorkus. The Stampede battles are definitely the battles I enjoy the most when Trample works out since nothing beats destroying the whole line-up of the enemy in just 1 go.

Now that we have a decent understanding of the featured Ruleset and its potential advantages and disadvantages, let us have a look at the battle I have chosen to showcase.

  • The line-up of the Battle and the Ruleset:

The rulesets for this battle are Counterspell (All units receive the Magic Reflect ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with magic receive damage back), Stampede (Trample will re-trigger infinitely as long as the trampling unit keeps killing other units) and Shades of Gray (Only Neutral Units may be used in battles). The mana budget is 21 which is a low amount of mana so it does not give me the ability to play whatever combinations of Monsters I want. The available Elements are Water, Earth and Life. I have decided to go with the Water element, however, that affects only the Summoner as the only playable Monsters are only Neutrals.

The Main Tank in the line-up is the Disintegrator. It is at max level so it has a total of 4 pretty cool abilities: Demoralize (Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters), Trample (When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team), Knock Out (Does double damage when attacking an enemy that is stunned), Retaliate (When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance of attacking their attacker). I am hopeful that if the number 2 Monster does not get the job done, the Disintegrator can cover for her.

Next in the line-up is the newest Rebellion airdrop and the Grim Bardun Smith killer (and all no-attack Monsters in general). She has a new ability - Charge (The Monsters will use Melee Attacks from any position and will target the Enemy Monsters in the first position). Bear in mind that just as other abilities, it is affected by Taunt, so that's one way to keep your GBS, Bakjeera, etc. safe. Her other abilities are Piercing (If Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health), Oppress (Does double damage when attacking an enemy that has no attacks) and Trample (When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team) (at level 4). She can single-handedly wipe the whole Enemy team in certain situations.

Following immediately after is one of the now old soulbound cards which were introduced to the game with the 1st set of SB cards - the Venari Marksrat. I am interested in its main ability - Martyr (When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats). It's place is obvious - in the middle of the pack so if it dies - it can buff the Monsters adjacent to it. It has only 4 health (at level 3) so that's generally not too hard to happen, especially in a battle such as this where the Ranged/Magic/No Attack Monsters are attacked based on their position in the line-up.

It is time for a quick round by round analysis:

The Summoner I am going with Kelya because the +1 Speed and +1 Armor she provides. I am hoping my Venka manages to complete the task before the enemy team gets my team down. The enemy has also chosen to go with Kelya with Venka waiting patiently in the middle of their line-up. Let's see how this goes.

image.png

  • Well you definitely need to watch this battle as screenshots of the round cannot do it justice but what basically happens is that the enemy Venka goes first but is unable to take my Disintegrator down while mine, on the other hand, manages to "not miss" the enemy Chaos Agent and gets the whole enemy team wiped out. Lights out for them.

Now for what my plans are for the new year. Well, I plan to keep playing the game daily, and also after the last pair of Legends promo cards comes out right before the New Year, I want to buy them and then cut all spending and try to save money for Conclave Arcana's presale. This time, though, I hope that we will see SPS increase a good deal so I can use some of my stash to get enough packs of CA. Getting fresh money into the game is not always a viable option so I will rely on the bullrun doing its thing for us this time around. Hopefully it will work out, if not, well, then I will buy the set gradually, as much as my financial situation allows me. Other than that, I hope the game keeps developing and we finally get a lot of new people in. If we manage to increase our player base even to just 10K, we will see a significant boost to the whole economy for sure.

Over and Out,

Hey mate, I think lots of players are going to do the same, instead of putting new money into the game, wait and see how the bull run goes.

And regarding Conclave Arcana, I am also looking forward to see the new set! See you on the Battlefield mate🤠!
