Do not vote your own posts/comments
I think it should be the other way around and it was that way before. Only because it wasn't optimal to vote right away it's not hardcoded to self-vote automatically. HP should matter, also for authors.
Of course regular process of evaluating content is in place, so if someone is shitposting daily, it will end up with zeroed rewards sooner or later.
Also think about it - if such shitposter will be forced to vote every time they post, then it will also kill their curation rewards (as no voting power will be left for those)
Thank you for your vote, I still do care, probably even more ;-) just overwhelmed with tasks to be done :-D
Never thought about that, and it's quite a different but interesting point of view: self-vote as a way to deter shitposters - at least those with a medium to large stake. This shows that for (almost) everything there's always another side of the medal that should be considered!
Even if I still see a possible issue in those cases where someone doesn't strictly shitpost but still publishes low effort - and very often low quality - posts that can't be classified as shitpost, but surely doesn't deserve many upvotes. And seeing the author throwing their vote in is something that, ihmo, is discouraging for new users, because they struggle to get some attention and at the same time see people - who didn't put any effort in what they did - self-voting themselves, while - maybe - getting way more upvotes than they deserved... like those weren't already more than enough to reward their small effort.
End of the rant 🤣
I know, and my vote is always there! :)
