Splinterlands Custom Challenges Guide

in Splinterlands3 days ago

Let's talk about customized battles, I will dumb it down to the very core for me and my fellow newbies.

Intro : Custom Challenges

In essence, this mode of battle in Splinterlands gives players to opportunity to challenge other players to battle, this gives challengers the chance to choose who to challenge, and other customized rules to the battle, the rules could be neutral or not (I mean you can make the rules favor you heavily 🤭)

The first steps

To use this feature, you would have to head to Splinterlands, on the page, you'll have to log in to your Hive account. By clicking the Play Now button on the home page.

Signing in

You input your Hive username and login by the method you prefer, I use KeyChain, so I use that to sign in.

After a successful login, you'll be redirected to the About Player page where you click on "PLAY NOW"

You will then be directed to your battle history page where you will be able to start a new battle, view your battle history, your ranking and a whole lot.

To assess the custom challenge feature of Splinterlands, you'll have to locate it in the top right corner of your screen.

After clicking on it, it will load and give you a pop-up menu window. Which will contain the rules of the custom challenge, you will find a few options there.

You can input the username of the one you wish to challenge in the "OPPONENT" column

Allowed Cards

In this section, you get to choose the set of cards that would be available for you and the opponent to use:

  1. You can choose "All Card" which will make available all playable cards you and the opponent can use.
  2. Gold Cards only - you can make it such that only Gold Cards are used in the challenge.
  3. Alpha Cards only - You can also make it such that the battle uses only Alpha Cards.
  4. Gladiator Cards - This would include +1 Gladiator Card with its applicable rule set.
  5. Modern - This would all the use of Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card sets
  6. Ghost Cards - This would allow the use of all cards available, without ownership or rental.
  7. Ghost Mordern - All modern cards available, without ownership or rental.

Summoner Level Caps

This will limit the number of cards playable based on the summoner level.

Mana Cap

This place lets us set the amount of mana that can be used, this is between 12 and 99.

Rulesets

You can decide to add up to 6 rulesets to the challenge.

You can also choose which elements can be used in the challenge.

And oh, one more thing, it costs 10 DEC or Credits for one customized Challenge.
