Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Clash of the Heavyweights

image.png

Hello Splinterlands Community! For the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge this week, I will share an exciting and amazing modern ranked battle that I have a few days ago where it is the first time that I encounter a new ruleset that was part of the latest update of the game recently and I think that ruleset is very nice and cool especially if you have a lot of heavy damage dealing cards available in your collection as well as through renting and if you also want to see a lot of hard hitting actions against tough monsters that also deals a massive amount of damage as well. This type of match is what I will share for this week and I personally liked this new ruleset that was added in the game since I am big fan of heavy damage dealing monsters especially if it up against a very durable enemy unit. The heavyweights in this match are the monsters that deals a massive amount of damage and consider as the main source of damage for the team. The amount of mana that needs to be used in order to deploy this monsters can be massive as well so it is very important to plan carefully on the monsters that will be deployed in this type of match. I will continue to share the battle I had where I utilized my heavyweight monsters to surpass the enemy team and secures the victory for the team.

The Ruleset

Might Makes Right

image.png

There is only one ruleset that is present for this modern ranked battle and that is Might Makes Right. This ruleset only allows unit that has a damage output of 3 or more to become available in the match if this ruleset is present. This damage could be melee, ranged or magic damage and it should be the base amount of damage of the unit without relying on the damage buff coming from the summoner. In this modern ranked battle that I have shared, all of my units satisfied this ruleset as my Drybone Barbarian and Marisol Contuma deals a massive amount of melee damage to the enemy team while my Prismologist on the other hand deals a great amount of ranged damage to the enemy team as well.

My Lineup

Summoner: Franz Ruffmane

image.png

I have selected Franz Ruffmane as my summoner for this modern ranked battle. It is a life summoner that gives bonus shield to the whole team at the start of the match. The shield buff from this summoner gives additional durability to all my units against the enemy units that deals melee and ranged damage which is useful for this specific match. This summoner also allows me to utilize a unit from the Gladius set which I took advantage by deploying Marisol Contuma for this modern ranked battle.

Monster 1 : Drybone Barbarian

image.png

I have used Drybone Barbarian and placed this unit in the first position on my team for this match. It deals a massive amount of melee damage to the enemy team which makes this card available for this match since it has satisfied the conditions of the ruleset in this match. It also has a great amount of health as well making it a suitable frontline unit for the team. This unit has the Enrage ability that gives additional buff on its melee damage and speed if it was taken a damage from any source. That ability is very useful as it makes Drybone Barbarian more powerful and destructive in the battlefield.

Monster 2 : Marisol Contuma

image.png

I have also used my Marisol Contuma in this match and placed it in the second position of the team behind Drybone Barbarian. It also deals a massive amount of melee damage to the enemy team just like Drybone Barbarian and it also passes the condition of the ruleset in the match. This unit has the Reach ability which allows this unit to be able to deal damage to the enemy team each round as long as it is placed in the second position of the team. Being a Gladius unit, it also has the Bloodlust ability which is very useful in the match as it gives this unit an overall buff on its stats every time it was able to take down an enemy unit making Marisol Contuma more unstoppable as the match continues to go on.

Monster 3 : Prismologist

image.png

Lastly I have also used my Prismologist in this modern ranked battle and placed it in the last position of the team. It deals a great amount of ranged damage to the enemy team and it also satisfies the ruleset for this match. It also has a low amount of health which is why I placed it in the back of the team. This unit has the Blast ability which causes this unit's attack to deal additional damage to the monsters that is adjacent to the target monster of this unit. This additional damage makes the job more easier for Drybone Barbarian and Marisol Contuma to take down the enemy units and took control of this match.

My Battle Analysis

ROUND 1

image.png

The first round was a lot of action and exchange of damages from both sides. The shield buff from my summoner was a huge difference in this round as it was able to absorb the initial heavy damage coming from the enemy team's Grund. The Enrage ability from my Drybone Barbarian was also triggered in this round that allows my team to take down the enemy team's Grund in this round. This makes Drybone Barbarian more powerful in the upcoming rounds as this unit now deals a superb amount of melee damage that can definitely take down an enemy unit immediately.

ROUND 2

image.png

During the second round, my team was able to take down the enemy team's Bramble Pixie immediately. The super massive amount of melee damage coming from Drybone Barbarian was fully displayed in this round as it was the one who deals the massive finishing blow to the Bramble Pixie. This leaves the enemy team down to two units remaining after this round. My team was also able to deal damage to the the enemy team's Hunter Jarx and Venari Knifer making them more vulnerable on the upcoming rounds.

ROUND 3

image.png

During the third and final round, my team was able to take down the remaining enemy units which are Hunter Jarx and Venari Knifer. My Marisol Contum was able to deal the killing blow to the Hunter Jarx that allows the Bloodlust ability of this unit to trigger giving Marisol Contum additional firepower and boosts on its stats. It was my Drybone Barbarian that was able to deal the final blow to the enemy team's Venari Knifer which ends this match and secures me the victory. Since the Venari Knifer has the Thorns ability it makes my Drybone Barbarian to fall down at the last moment of this match making the closing of the match a bit dramatic for me.

The ruleset in this match which is Might Makes Right is very interesting for me, as it allows the showcase of all heavyweight monsters in the game to clash and deal heavy damage to gain the supremacy at the top. In this modern ranked battle that I have shared, I utilized the biggest damage dealer available on my collection which is Marisol Contum and Drybone Barbarian, these units deals a massive amount of 5 melee damage to the enemy team which is already good enough to take down a vulnerable enemy unit immediately. This melee damage from these units can be amplified with the help of their corresponding abilities. On the part of Drybone Barbarian it has the Enraged ability that was showcased in this match as it was able buffed up and was now dealing 8 massive melee damage to the enemy team at the middle of the match. My Marisol Contum was also able to get a huge buff coming from the Bloodlust ability which allows this unit to deal 6 melee damage to the enemy team in this match. This ruleset allows you to flex the monsters you have in your collection that deals a big amount of damage and make it reign supreme in the battlefield.
