Hello Splinterlands Community! It is another exciting week as it is time for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. For this week, I will share some of my thoughts and insights regarding a certain ability in the game that is very powerful in my opinion and only some units in the game has this capability. The certain ability that I will talk about is Double Strike ability which is a powerful ability that allows the unit to deal damage twice to the enemy team. This ability is very useful on most matches and on guild brawls as well that is why it is important to know and familiarize with the units that has this powerful ability. I am also utilizing units that has this ability on my battles if it is wise and reasonable. This ability is very strong and destructive which is why there are some challenge to utilize the units with this ability in the matches that has limitations like mana pool and present rulesets in the match. I will continue to talk about the units in the game that has the Double Strike ability and I hope that this post would give you some good insights and ideas about utilizing the units with this ability in your matches as I believe that this ability would be a game changer in the match if it is utilized very well.
Double Strike Ability
This ability allows the unit to strike twice each round which makes the unit to deal double amount of damage it has to its target enemy monster. This is very effective against very durable enemy units that has a great amount of health and have a great amount of shield as well. This ability also allows the unit to take down multiple enemy monsters in a single round as the Double Strike ability allows this unit to carry over the second strike to the next enemy unit if the target enemy unit was taken down during the first strike. It makes the unit more powerful and destructive in the battlefield as the units that has the Double Strike ability is very capable of becoming the main source of damage for the team. This ability is also works very well with other abilities in the game such as Sneak, Opportunity, Snipe, Reach, Bloodlust and so much more. On the abilities that I have mentioned, the Bloodlust ability stands out to me as that ability gives the unit an overall buff on its stats every time it was able to take down an enemy unit which is very much possible with the Double Strike ability.
Double Strike Units
These are the cards in the game that has the Double Strike ability. The units with the Double Strike ability comes from different sets such as Chaos Legion, Rebeliion, Untamed, Gladius and more. It is also very accessible to the players as there are common and rare units that has this ability which allows them to either purchase or rent these cards with Double Strike ability and have a good taste on how powerful and destructive the Double Strike ability. The common thing about the cards with Double Strike ability is that majority of this units are high mana cost which means deploying this card in the team would consume a lot of mana that was allocated for the match and it would be a challenge and a gamble to utilize these units especially if the mana available for the match is low. It is very advisable to utilize the cards with Double Strike ability on battles that has a high mana pool available and on the matches where these units can thrive even if the mana available is limited. I am currently building my collection on the units with Double Strike ability and based on what I shared on the figure above, I have only limited units with this ability that is playable on my matches. Nevertheless, every time I was able to utilize these units on the battlefield, it always provide a huge firepower to the team and gives me a better chance to secure the victory.
Marketplace
I will also share the current price of the cards with the Double Strike ability on the marketplace as of this writing in order to give you some idea just in case if you are planning to purchase these cards and add them into your collection. Based on the figure above, I can say that most of the cards with the Double Strike ability are very affordable as the lowest listing in the marketplace was $0.021 for a level 1 copy of Dhampir Infiltrator which is a rare card in the dragon element. I was quite surprise to find out that the rare units with Double Strike ability are much cheaper compared to the common units that has the ability as well. I mostly utilized the common units with the Double Strike ability in my battles which is why I think it is reasonable that the prices of these cards are more higher compared to the other common cards in the game. The most expensive card based on the figure above would be the Carnage Titan which is a legendary card in the Chaos Legion set. It has the Double Strike ability that compliments very well with the Reach ability of that unit. This card is already quite expensive as it is a legendary card but with the addition of the power of the Double Strike ability, this card becomes more valuable making it a bit a challenge for the players who wants to collect this card in their collection.
There is also an option to rent these cards if you are looking to utilize these cards in your battles without adding it permanently in your collection. This option is a good alternative if you are saving up some DEC or credits as those are the currency that are needed to purchase or rent these cards. It is also a good way to check and test if you can utilize properly these cards in the battles as these units requires some careful planning and decision making in order to maximize the power of the Double Strike ability from these units. There are also times that I am renting the units with Double Strike ability as I only have limited resources and I can also find out if this unit fits perfectly on the collection that I currently have.
My Battles
This is the modern ranked battle that I want to share in this post where I utilize one of my units in the collection that has the Double Strike ability which is Coastal Sentry. The double strike ability of this unit was a big difference maker in this match as the enemy team has the Quora Towershead which is very unstoppable once it was able to take down units. My Coastal Sentry was able to deal a significant amount of melee damage to the enemy team's Quora Towershead with the help of the double strike ability which allows the team to take it down and took control of the match.
