Hello Splinterlands Community! It is time for an exciting showcase of creativity and knowledge in this week of Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. My entry for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge this week will be about the continuous improvement and growth on my card collection as I am going to upgrade some of my Gladius units in the game that are ready to be upgraded to a higher level as well as I will also share the result of my latest Gladius Case opening that I had before writing this post and also to share my thoughts on the Gladius units that I got from the Gladius Case and on the Gladius units that I am going to upgrade. Gladius units can only be collected through purchasing Gladius Case in the shop inside the game which would cost 2000 merits per Gladius Case. The merits could be earn through participation in Guild Brawls and by purchasing the Merits inside the Glint Shop and also from opening Rewards Chest where Merits can be obtained. It is a different approach compared to other units from different sets where the units can be purchased or rented in the game which is why Gladius units are considered very special in the game. I will continue to talk about the recent Gladius case opening that I had and also the Gladius units that I have upgraded to higher levels and to share as well how powerful they are when these units are deployed in the battlefield.
Gladius Case Opening
This is the result of my recent Gladius Case opening that I have after saving up 2000 merits and purchasing Gladius Case in the shop. It took a while to saved up 2000 merits since the only way to obtain merits is through active participation on Guild brawls and by purchasing Merits on the Glint shop. It could also be obtain by opening rewards chest as well. My latest Gladius Case was good for me as I was able to obtain good Gladius units in this opening. I am utilizing most of the Gladius cards that I have got in this Gladius case on my battles and I will continue to talk about on the units I have obtain from this Gladius Cae opening.
1. Bertrol Gobson
One of the cards that I obtained from this Gladius Case opening is Bertrol Gobson. It is a common earth unit that deals melee damage to the enemy team. It has the opportunity ability which allows this unit to prioritize the enemy unit that has the lowest amount of health. This ability compliments very well with the Bloodlust ability that grants overall buff on this unit if it was able to take down an enemy unit. It is one of the Gladius units that has a low mana cost but has a great ability that can grow stronger as the match progresses.
2. Whistling Damon
One of the cards that I also obtained from the Gladius Case opening is Whistling Damon. It is a common death unit that deals ranged damage to the enemy units. This unit has the snipe ability that allows this unit to strike down the enemy units that is in the backline of the enemy team. This ability allows this unit to potentially take down enemy units and triggers the Bloodlust ability that gives more offensive power to this unit. This makes the snipe ability of this unit very suitable with the Bloodlust ability as it would make this unit more powerful as it snipes down the enemy team.
3. Liza Fox
One of the cards that I also obtained from this Gladius Case opening is Liza Fox. It is a rare death unit that also deals a great amount of ranged damage to the enemy team. This unit does not have additional ability besides the Bloodlust ability which also gives this unit an overall buff whenever it takes down an enemy units. Since this unit has a massive amount of ranged damage, it would not take long before this unit would take down an enemy unit and triggers the Bloodlust ability making this unit more destructive in the battlefield.
4. Hugo Strongsword
One of the cards that I also obtained from this Gladius Case opening is Hugo Strongsword. It is a common life unit that deals melee damage to the enemy units. This unit has a good amount of shield and health making it a good frontline for the team. The durability of this unit is enhanced by the Shield ability of this unit which reduces the melee and ranged damage it would receive from the enemy team by half. This unit could also become a good damage dealer as it also has the Bloodlust ability which would increase not only the durability but also the offensive firepower of this unit once it took down an enemy unit.
5. Chimney Wallstop
One of the cards that I obtained from this Gladius Case opening is Chimney Wallstop. It is a common fire unit that deals a massive amount of melee damage to the enemy units. This unit is also very durable which makes it very suitable to become the frontline unit for the team. It also has the reach ability which allows this unit to deal damage to the enemy team as long as it is placed in the second position of the team. This ability also works well with the Bloodlust ability as this unit could deal melee damage to enemy units even if it is not placed in the first position which gives opportunity to this unit to take down enemy units and triggers the Bloodlust ability.
Upgrading my Gladius Units
Katrelba Gobson
I have upgraded my Katrelba Gobson from level 2 to level 3. It is a common earth Gladius unit that deals melee damage to the enemy team. This unit has the Sneak ability which allows this unit to take down first the enemy unit that is placed on the last position of the enemy team. This compliments very well with the Double Strike ability and Bloodlust ability which makes this unit extremely powerful every time it takes down an enemy unit. Upgrading this card from level 2 going to level 3 gives this unit more durability as it increases the base health of this unit making it more powerful in the battlefield.
Witch of Warwick
I have also upgraded my Witch of Warwick from level 2 towards level 3 as well. It is a common death Gladius unit that deals magic damage to enemy team. This unit has the Life Leech which gives this unit additional health every time it lands a magic damage to enemy units. This ability does deals damage to the enemy team but also provides additional durability to this unit making it very durable as the match progresses. This ability is also good with the Bloodlust ability of this unit as it gives more opportunity to this unit to potentially take down enemy units which would trigger the effects of Bloodlust ability which gives additional firepower and durability to this unit. Upgrading this unit from level 2 to level 3 gives additional base health on this unit making it a bit more durable at the beginning of the match.
Palidon Rakk
I have also upgraded my Palidon Rakk from level 1 going to level 2. It is a rare earth Gladius unit that deals a good amount of melee damage to the enemy team and it has a massive amount of health. This card already has a great amount of health at level 1 and upgrading this unit to level 2 further increases its base health making it more effective as a frontline unit for the team. This unit also has the Bloodlust ability that gives this card overall stats every time it takes down an enemy unit. This ability makes this unit a good source of damage for the team especially if the effects of Bloodlust ability is applied to this unit.
My Battle
This is the modern ranked battle that I want to share wherein I utilized my earth units that includes my recently upgraded Gladius earth unit which is Katrelba Gobson. Since I am using a Gold Foil summoner, I was able to deploy my leveled up Katrelba Gobson that has increased stats. My Katrelba Gobson was able to take down enemy units in this match which boosts the overall stats of this unit making it more powerful and destructive as the match progresses. This unit was a big factor to the team as I was able to secure the victory in the match with the help from this unit.
